Lunar eclipse on Saturday morning.
I don't hold out much hope with the Seattle weather, but others might get lucky.

1. I happen to be in Seattle right now
And it sure was sunny today. I doubt if I get up then though. It's cold, plus I hope I am asleep. Maybe if I upgrade my camera sometime it would be worth it.

And I just put my new fast lens on the camera...

I would LOVE to get some decent pics.

4. Got kind of lucky in Seattle.
The clouds and fog stayed away until just before the total eclipse started. The gathered group hoped and prayed for one more break in the clouds, but that did not happen. I will post a pick later today.

but we live too close to the water, and the fog had rolled in by the time the eclipse was happening. Here's a shot I took earlier in the evening when I had high hopes. :)

This was my first try using my new Christmas toy, the Canon EF 2x III extender, on my 70-200 f/2.8 lens. This was hand held, and I'm very pleased with the outcome. This is going to save me from having to lug around the 100-400 when I want to travel "light" and will be very handy to have in my pocket when the unexpected moose pops up.

ed. Using the 7D and not cropped, by the way.

6. Very nice.
That 2x converter seems to get the job done. I have been almost-seriously thinking about getting Nikon's new TC 2x III.
