Wednesday, 2/1: I worked out today (???) did you?
:hi:

Well, I started to work out today. I got about 15 minutes into spinning class and my abdomen started hurting again so I stopped. I then when into the weight room, but I was just so frustrated by the ab thing that I used it as an excuse to give up and hit the showers.

I'm feeling pretty defeated today, about a lot of things. I guess I should have stuck it out at the gym. I think maybe that would have made me feel "normal" enough to handle all the other stuff going on in my head and heart.

Live and learn. I'll be back at it tomorrow, if the doctor lets me (I see him this afternoon).

4. I felt the same
Too many aches and pains, I did one set of situps and quit. I have an appointment on Friday to see an Active Release practitioner to see if I can get some relief from my chronic shoulder pain.

7. Yes, I did
57 sets of 9 different exercises with free weghts, 10 - 12 reps per set. For the dumbell work, I had a bench out under the stars, and the sky was cloudless - a good night. I'm doing slower reps to ensure good form. Have messed up rotator cuff on right shoulder 3 times, takes longer each time to heal. Doctor keeps telling me I'm not 25 any more.

I did not do any bicycle road work today, but I did get 40 minutes on the road yesterday late afternoon, after my original post.

Some days, MissMillie, it's not a bad thing to listen to your body telling you to ease up. It's not a defeat, but rather a strategic withdrawal to recoup strength.

8. I've been on the road, and I've been using that as an excuse
to slough off. :(

I think it is easy enough for me to do a yoga practice on my own in the hotel room and I did a few asanas on a couple of days, but the biggest problem I had was with all of the other activity going on I didn't want to get up early or take a long lunch break to exercise. But I am feeling stiff and sore and all knotted up today and I realize I have not done my body any favors by taking such a long break!

Next trip I take, I will make sure to allot more time for exercise, even if I have to force myself.
