1. Who was Hector?
And how did it happen?

True Crime junkies want to know.

2. I had to look that one up!
In the ILIAD, during the Trojan War, "Achilles kills Hector with a blow to the neck.... Achilles draws a rope through Hector's feet. Hector's body is then dragged behind Achilles' chariot around the battlefield for thirteen days."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hector

Mama always used that expression, "dead as Hector."

3. Oh, THAT Hector
I thought it might be, but I wasn't sure.

I'd never heard of the expression "dead as Hector" before. I like it. :-)

Thanks for the info and the wiki link.

9. I meant that I wanted to hang out here, versus
GD, which is so contentious as of late. Skinner gave the advice to hang out in other forums for more meaty discussions. I enjoy this forum, but as a newbie of TC, I really don't have much to contribute. I hope the forum doesn't shut down. I appreciate everyones comments. :hi:

10. Oh, and I'm grateful that you started this group.
:hi: I've learned alot. Perhaps the the people who are long term researchers of TC could start a thread for an "into for newbies." with must reads and advice for those who want to get started. Just a suggestion. There is so much knowledge here, that I think folks like me could benefit with some guidance.

11. I slacked back since I had to get a full-time job with benefits
I used to work from home, and I had more time to surf the 'Net.

This is a good idea. Let me see what I can put together.

12. Good idea
I am mostly a lurker (see post count) but I like to catch up here. Here's a site which has a good round up of international true crime stories which can get you started.

There is not really a lot of interest.

7. I vote NO
I don't post here a lot, but I enjoy this forum and read here every day. I'd like the True Crime forum to stay.

It was my job to juice up the forum and...I couldn't do it. My forum pepping-up powers have died or something.

15. Lol, don't feel like a failure
we could all take turns posting one interesting murder or TC per week or whatever. Anyone PM me if they want to do this.

Unfortunately, there is so much crime in the US, we should have plenty of stories to post...

16. I was going to suggest this a few weeks ago
Or we can all post different cases. I was thinking of the O.J. case. I am one of the few who question his perceived guilt.

17. I can coordinate if you all want to PM me
I have been so busy at work, learning a new job, that I have really fallen down in taking care of this place, and I would really not like to have it shut down.

We could do it week, eg, two new stories per week, or two new posts.

I'm open to suggestions!
