Anyone here ever visit famous true crime scenes?
Edited on Tue May-30-06 05:45 PM by XanaDUer
I am not sure if this makes me weird or not ( :D ), but I have visited a few TC geographic areas.

One was where the, "Small Sacrifices" shootings took place, and another was the , "Amityville Horror" home-where Ronnie DeFeo murdered his family (supposedly his sister Dawn was also involved in the killings-but only Ronnie is left and she cannot speak for herself anymore.)

1. SMALL SACRIFICES really interested me.

In a way it was a lot like the Susan Smith case, or I should say, the Susan Smith case was a lot like Diane Downs' case.

To answer your question, no.

I've always thought I wouldn't live in a house where a mass murder had occurred. Now I'm not sure. I wouldn't WANT to, but if someone made me a deal I couldn't refuse...I just don't know.

2. Never on a second thought yes in a way
Since I have visited Fords Theatre which is where Abe Lincoln was killed but as far as places like Gein's farm house in rural Wisconsin, Dahmer's apartment in Milwaukee, or Gacy's place in Chicago, no.
I saw a special on the Amityville Horror so I finally found out what that was all about. I live a few towns over though from where George Lincoln Rockwell was killed though. My dad recalls the American Nazi Party HQ all too well sadly.

3. Not really
I have driven past the area where many bodies were found during the Torso murders here in Cleveland. That was back in the 30s. I don't know if you have ever heard of that case, but it is really interesting and the killer was never caught.

Oh yeah, and I saw the Sam Shepherd house before it was moved. I don't know how notorious that murder was outside of the Cleveland area, but it is one of the big cases here.
