No MSNBC with my verizon Fios service!

Hi folks.

We didn't know until after installation that our new "cable" internet phone service did not carry MSNBC in this area.

:wtf:

Their explanation was something to do with "exclusive contract" with Optimum and or Time Warner in parts of NY and NJ .

Whatever, it means we get no Olbermann.

Switching our service provider is not an option right now.
I have written emails galore but I feel that I am not getting to anywhere that matters.

Have any of you had luck reaching cable providersor networks in a meaningful way?

Any other suggestions (besides switching providers) ?

Thanks!

eek

1. Ask them if that's the fucking Bill O'Reilly/Rupert Murdoch package.
I presume that means you get all of the FOX channels.

Why not contact MSNBC and bitch to high heaven? Maybe they could file a lawsuit or something, re:fair and balanced.

3. Why don't you try calling their main switchboard
and telling them you have a local problem with your provider not carrying MSNBC, and ask them whom they suggest you talk to or what you can do?

Chances are it won't be the first time they've had such a call, so they will have explained to their receptionists how to handle it so it doesn't go into a black hole. After all, you are a viewer who wants to go on being a viewer, and can't. They should care somewhat.

4. good one
thank you!

especially with the suggested wording; those kinda suggestions really work for me to help get over hesitation due to tongue tiedness.

Appreciate it!

5. I'll stay with Comcast
'cause I've been hearing one horror story after another about FIOS! I may pay through the nose but at least I can watch Keith every night.

Thanks for the heads up, eek. I'll be glad to get the word out to my friends. If Verizon FIOS does'nt have MSNBC, then what's the point of signing up?!
