Question re: downloads from Websites!
Hey, folks: since I'm on the verge of entering the modern age by getting a new PC, can you take downloads of eppys of "Puppet Theatre", etc., and either download them to your hard drive or a DVD? I'd love to save them for posterity.

Thanks, folks!

1. That's a good question.
With most standard downloadable video, there's a link that ends in a .wav or a .mov file, and you can just right click on the link and do "save as" to save to your hard drive. However, the stuff on the MSNBC website pops up in its own little weird player and I don't know how to download that. You might have better luck with the stuff at o.org.

Maybe _q_ or dzika will be able to answer your question better than I can...

2. Can I just say how much I despise the MSNBC website?
No matter what I do, it always opens "with errors on the page."
It also takes forever to load, often freezes up or smears the page together in a black blur.

Worst user site ever. :puke:

(whew, I feel better. :))

does weird sorts of twitchy things when JavaScript is enabled, so I only turn that on when I want to vote in polls and such. I didn't know it was also uncooperative for Windows users.

on edit: And why can't they post a schedule of what's actually on the network? If I hadn't seen Keith's broadcast on Thursday or read this group, I might not have known about the coverage he was doing on Sunday night.

4. And if you've got a Mac
you can't even WATCH their video.

They should call it MSN*PC*.com!
