3. I will send in some EDVs for you.

They are hunting bush.

I am willing to bet you that the spying was not only on
"terrorists" but on threats such as John Kerry. In his OH
HQs our computer were hacked into many times ..... we had really
good I.T. people too. The hacks got through up to 6 firewalls.

I read today that Boxer is now looking into impeachment.

6. Yes, she is.
She's talking to John Dean and other presidential experts.

I'm sure we're all on a big list somewhere. I can't wait to see tomorrow's story about how they're spying on protesters, etc. It's bad enough when they spy on terrorists -- at least they can try to justify it. When they spy on everyday Amurcans, that's a whole nother kettle of fish.

44. I hope they're spying on me and finding out what a smart
little boy I have (who hates Shrub), how loyal I am to Wesley Clark's campaign to point out all Shrub's lies and, most importantly, what a great sex life I have (I bet that makes the fundies stew!).

However, I would also like the shits to know that I'm well-informed of the Fourth Amendment and would sue their asses if they DID spy on me. :)

112. during
i was just starting the dissolve stage at that point, so just needed to keep stirring. my mom's recipe is very detailed (heat until 234F--know any candy thermometers THAT exact?), except it says at the end "beat until no longer shiny" but doesn't define "not shiny." so, every year, i guess & somehow it comes out all right. :)

116. I know what "not shiny" looks like (beat until your elbows give out)
and isn't 234 the soft ball stage? Candy thermometers have a marking for that.

then again, Mom still has Tupperware from 1950. :scared:

on edit: I usually use the soft-ball-in-ice-water test. Don't have to worry about where your thermometer's resting in the pan (and it's such a damned nuisance trying to stir around them) and you get a preview of coming attractions. :-)

Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 03:26 PM by gkhouston
they have a catalog with all sorts of nifty baking things you don't see everywhere... like a springform pan that's 13x9.

on edit: That's King Arthur Flour, not the dude with the sword. Here's the link to the baker's catalog associated with King Arthur:
http://shop.bakerscatalogue.com

And look, here's a candy thermometer that appears to have some markings in addition to the regular temperature notations:

98. better than that -- they can get one RETROACTIVELY
if they do it within the first 24-48 hours. NPR had a great segment on this issue this morning (Tuesday, Morning Edition, I think it was just after 8am Central). And the special court they go to has almost never said no, and if it does, they can quickly go to an appellate court, and from thence to an in camera session of the Supreme Court. There is no way they need to break the FISA law to do the sort of snooping they say they're doing, which leads to the inevitable conclusion that they must be doing some other kind of spying that they know isn't going to fly with a judge.

35. Why did this woman burn that stuff?
So she could get free publicity for doing it. Best $6500 in public relations she ever spent. Duh.

:hi: all.

Ramzey's sick, so I'm not here long. Sad to be sick on Christmas vacation, but at least I'm on vacation, too, and had no problem staying up all night long with him (could nap with him today, as well).

I see that Keith is also on vacation - which sucks - especially with all the news.

99. I was wondering what kind of porn she was selling
if she was truly concerned about people buying her stuff and then going out and molesting kids. We're supposed to think that she used to sell kiddie porn and then she found Jesus and saw the error of her ways? Or are we supposed to infer that any kind of porn makes you want to "do" kids? And I guess Christians don't do horny?

111. Not only that, I happen to own this:

Last Supper Longbox
The original Last Supper is unquestionably one of the greatest paintings of all time, but who hasn't looked at it and said, "Eh, I could do better than that." That's where the Paint-by-Numbers Last Supper Longbox comes in. This 11-1/4" x 5" x 2-1/4" metal longbox gives you the power and glory of Jesus' last meal mixed with the blurry kitsch of homemade art. With metal fixtures and a black plastic handle. Each bagged.

Last Supper Longbox
item 11073
$7.95 ea.

although i did have my "get out of jury duty free" answers at the ready--death penalty for parking tix, etc. ;) chances were slim to none that i'd get picked (who wants an atty on their panel?) but i do know it sometimes happens when both sides think the other is going to strike the atty & don't do it themselves. i could also have gotten up & given some rant to taint the entire jury pool on how all the feds are corrupt & now spying on everyone for no reason, so i just bet this defendant is innocent & being set up by a corrupt government, but i don't think the judge would have appreciated that....
