causes a lot of problems like high blood pressure, high level of stress hormones and insulin resistance. What I'm curious about, is there any information about how soon or how much these problems go away after treatment has started? I know I feel a lot better on my C-PAP. I also know I've been fighting apnea (without realizing that was the problem) for about 20 years.

I'm thinking of something like those quit smoking posters you see in doctors' offices," in 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
# In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
# In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
# In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase." etc

1. Think of it this way, hedgehog...
When you have a good fitting mask that's comfortable, and your pressure ramps up so that you drop off to sleep... you'll be able to get to the stages (all the proper stages) of sleep that will immediately enable-

*A drop in blood pressure (due to a steady chest pressure swinging back and forth)
*An increase in oxygen saturation for your body to utilize all night (due to better oxygen reaching your blood)
*A decrease in carbon dioxide (due to better ventilation)
*A better cognition the next day (due to your brain's ability to repair and rebuild memory)

Clean your mask every day and take care of the machine as your health care provider tells you to do.

I'm proud of you!
