Why are lipsticks like men?

They all say they'll stay, but most of them won't stick around any length of time.

But seriously, have you found any that do stay on your lips for hours? And don't change to weird shades? And, of course, feel nice to your lips, and, ideally, have an SPF of at least 15.

Is there a Perfect Lipstick?

I would have said Lancome. I don't know who does, now.

(that was the year before I moved to Vermont)

2. They don't sell lipstick in Vermont?

Or you took a no-lipstick vow before moving to Vermont?

Maybe you just "aren't working" these days. No more panthose, either? (God, am I glad not to torture myself with pantyhose anymore!)

3. Something Like That

Put it this way: I went from cosmo urban wear to flannel in 30 seconds flat.

I'm not there any more, but don't see any need to get back into the habit. Not while there's Carmex to be had.

Yes, I do have pantyhose, and occasionally wear it. Yesterday, in fact.

4. i like lip gloss
i have a bit of "obsession" with lip products but mostly lip glosses and balms. i like the glossy look rather than matte. and of course gloss feels a lot better .

i do remember reading about better and more moisuturizing lipsticks which are coming out. i'm not sure about spf though.

5. I've only found a lipstick
that meets one of your requirements. Lipfinity (I think that's the name) by Max Factor. It lasts forever. In fact, you practically need to sand blast it off. It comes w/a tube of moisturizer that you can reapply as you need to, but the color itself stays put. It doesn't come in too many shades, though.

Oh, Hi everybody!

best

6. sort of....
Colorstay lip color (comes in a black tube that looks like a pen, revelon maybe? ) stays forever, but it's dry on my lips. And no sunscreen.

So what I do is the colorstay (I love the Earth shade.), then Carmex SPF15 or or Neutrogena SPF 15, then a light dusting of powder. That locks it on, locks the moisturizer on, and well, the color is at the bottom of that so it's on, too. Then I can put lip gloss or whatever over that if I want shine (but usually I don't. It's not professional.)

7. Revlon colorstay lipsticks stay
but have a tendency to dry out the lips.

8. Thanks to all for your suggestions!

I will be trying them one by one until I find something that works for me!

Recently, I've been wearing lipsticks and lip glosses made by Burt's Bees of Vermont, a company that makes products out of beeswax, peppermint oil, sweet almond oil, etc. These glosses and balms and lipsticks feel great and come in yummy colors and yummy flavors, too, so some of you might want to check them out.

Plus, it's kind of a hoot to go to the hardware store when I need a lipstick! (I admit it's an upscale hardware store with a rather extensive housewares section. OK, OK, they sell Portmeirion. Strange hardware store!)

My favorite of the lipstick shades is "Fig," with "Persimmon" a close second.

10. I love Burt's Bees Fig, too.
I found that it isn't as long lasting as I like, though, so I put it over the top of the Revlon Colorstay and get the yummy taste and the texture I like as well as the staying power.

11. Great tip! I get so tried of my lipstick disappearing. . .

the nude lip look that was great in my twenties and thirties just looks too pale now. For a light color, I like the "Latte" by Burt's Bees. I also like their lip glosses but the tubes get screwed up too quickly and quit swiveling. The lip balm that comes in a tiny tin and is applied with your finger is also good.

About the same time the lipstick names changed from personal attributes (honesty, adventure, etc.) to fruity (fig, persimmon), I started having problems with the lipsticks breaking. Gonna check out the balm. Thanks!

13. They were already in their food name phase when I first tried them

and it was actually the glosses I was talking about having trouble with but now that you mentioned it, I remembered that my tube of "Latte" broke early on and I had to shove it back in the holder and "work with it" in order to use it. Now it's down to where I'm applying the last bits with a Q-tip (yes, I have lip brushes, but don't know where they are right now.) I definitely want more "Latte" but hope the next lipstick doesn't break like that. I really like those yummy flavored glosses, too, but they break so soon, alas.

Nice to meet another user of Burt's Bees lip products! :hi:

9. I think I have found close to perfect
but unfortunately with IMHO a limited color range. My Lip Miracle by Avon has great coverage and staying power, with an acceptable texture. I apply it over a very very slight film of Smith's Rosebud Salve, which helps with the sometimes dry lip edges in the AM.

I think most of the colors are too dark and intense, but I have found a few winners that work for me: Totally Twig, Pinktastic, and a bit dark but still good is Wonderose.

I wanted to love (new) Splenderose, but so far it's a bit too Hey Sailor for me. Maybe when summer comes and I try a fake tan for the first time, it could work.

Maybe with summer coming Avon will bring out some lighter. more neutral shades of this very good lipstick.

It is not SPF15, unfortunately. But Almay has some very nice glosses, that are a lot like the Prada glosses, with a high SPF. I like a bit more coverage.

:*
