Need words of encouragement for staying on your program today? Click here
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 10:22 PM by lavenderdiva
I just thought it might be uplifting for all of us, if there was a place to go, when you are feeling down about your progress, or needed help staying on track for today (whatever day that may be). I know I need a lot of encouragement!

I really want this program to be successful, and feel better about myself. Sometimes its so hard to choose the right foods and portions. Sometimes, I find I am just not thinking about what I am eating, until AFTER I have already ingested it, and then just feel so guilty and stupid! Then its too late!

We could really help one another 'stay the course', and help everyone reach their goals and feel successful about their accomplishments!

1. Hi lavenderdiva!
I'm off to a fair start for my day today. I did my morning workout, and then had a scrambled egg w/ just a bite of homefries.

Then I had 2 mini-muffins. I know it's not the end of the world, but I really need to find a way to stay away from that stuff (not ALL the time, just MOST OF the time).

I don't know what the offerings at the cafeteria are yet, but I will probably get a salad anyway (w/ plenty of grilled chicken added for protein).

2. The best part of what you are sharing...
is that is sounds like you are planning ahead as to what you will be eating next. Rather than just getting hungry and eating whatever is available! Planning ahead is the key to success, and it seems like you are getting the handle of it.

Wow! I am impressed that you began your day with exercise! That is what everyone says works best. That way you aren't finding other things that may seem more important to do first, and your energy hasn't waned yet.

What I did notice from your post, is that after you exercised, you had a good breakfast, and THEN had the muffins. It kinda sounds like they were there, and maybe you felt like rewarding yourself for your fabulous start to your day? At least you had MINI muffins not 2 regular or large size muffins!! Don't hit yourself over the head about it, move on... Note: I do find the 'delay tactic' often works. That is, if you can delay your treat until later (decide on a time), then when that time comes, try delaying yourself again. Sometimes, you will find, you can delay it until you've either forgotten about it or don't want it anymore!

You are off to a great day today, and success with your plan will follow! :bounce:
