(CANADIAN AND U.S. VERSIONS) MAY CONTAIN SALMONELLA BACTERIA

OTTAWA, January 30, 2009 – The public warning issued on January 23, 2009 has been expanded to include additional products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), NutriSystem Inc. and NutriSystem Canada, ULC are warning the public not to consume any NutriSystem brand Peanut Butter Granola Bars described below because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. These products contain peanut ingredients which have been recently recalled in the USA by Peanut Corporation of America due to Salmonella contamination.

1. I think most Protein kinds of bars with Peanut Butter are suspect
I was looking at some yesterday and decided not to buy any with peanuts. Interestingly enough most of these kinds of products are made in factories that have used peanuts or even have peanut dust left on the processing machinery. That's why they have to label as such for those with peanut allergies. I know that they are now pulling a number of products with Peanuts in them. I wonder if this is going to go much further to impact products produced in factories that used peanut products.

Not Good.

2. On the other hand, continuous vomiting and diarrhea, while not
recommended, is one way to lose weight!

5. The last time I lost a lot of weight
was because I had a UTI (never had one before, so I didn't know what it felt like).

I lost about 40 libs over about 3 months because I upchucked everything I took in.

Sorry your hubby is so sick. It's really not fun.

4. You can also search by product name at the FDA website
http://www.fda.gov/default.htm

Costco had a huge (almost 80 servings! :yoiks: ) bag of EAS whey protein powder on sale. I bought that and have a protein shake most evenings.
