Anybody here being treated for type 2 diabetes?
Edited on Fri May-08-09 10:33 AM by hedgehog
I'm overweight and waiting for the results of my A1C test. My question is this: if it turns out that I am insulin resistant, and if that gets treated, will I have more energy? I try to be active, but more and more just walkling wears me out.

Second question: I think this is a chicken and egg question: does insulin resistance cause weight gain, or does weight gain cause insulin resistance? I suspect the answer is "yes".

So, does treatment for Type 2 diabete4s make weight loss easier?

1. I think your diet causes insulin resistance
which in turn causes weight gain, or at least makes it more difficult to lose the weight accumulated over a long time of not eating healthily.

I know a woman who has beat diabetes just by changeing her diet. She doesn't have to take medication anyway. Let me know if you'd like details.

2. How are you doing Hedgehog?
Did you get your A1C results and your questions answered? Hopefully you're feeling better by now and have a little more energy.
