1. The way Bush appoints people
you must have some obvious level of lunacy to get a job like that. There's no other possible explanation.

5. I think all of good people quit year's ago.
That agency has just been a shambles - no leadership at all and extremely low morale.

Scary part is that those same idiots are in charge of keeping us safe from our own greed-driven drug companies.

Hell, dealin' with a goat would be so dang easier. And she'd keep the lawn mowed! But them wimmen, they smell lots nicer.

32. As a woman, I confess
Since I had my tubes tied and have absolutely no risk of pregnancy, I can hardly contain myself. When I walk down the street, I want to stop and fuck someone on EVERY car and flat surface that I see.
I just can't keep my hands to myself.

Seriously though, if RU486 was the only thing stopping sex cults, why wouldn't every woman that wanted to participate in such a lifestyle just have her tubes tied?

I sure wish there was a way to transplant neurons into stupid brains.

52. I thought RU486 was the "abortion pill", not the emergency contraceptive.
The "Morning After Pill" has to be taken within 72 hours after intercourse, and it can get a gal pretty damned sick for days! Good thing I was given medicinal suppositories to curb the nausea that the emergency contraceptive caused or I wouldn't have finished the program for sure!

57. Actually, you're correct
And you know what? From what I understand (I'm uterously challenged), you don't even need the "morning after" pill program. I have it on good medical authority that even if this pill wasn't available, simply doubling up on bc's for a couple days will have the same outcome, making the uterus simply inhospitable for gestation. Or so I'm told.

40. Incoherent, run on sentence built around a red herring argument....
Sure sign that Janet Woodstock is a Fundy plant in the FDA.

Dr. Curtis Rosebraugh, an agency medical officer, wrote: "As an example, she stated that we could not anticipate, or prevent extreme promiscuous behaviors such as the medication taking on an 'urban legend' status that would lead adolescents to form sex-based cults centered around the use of Plan B."

Witches and warlocks will be next.

Plus the ultimate Right Wing canard;

"Since we CANNOT anticipate extreme promiscuity from NOT happening it will NECESSARILY happen. QED"

This is an Argument From Credulity; a form of fallacious argument Aristotle criticized over 2000
years ago.

41. Further evidence of the politicizing of the FDA
As a medical professional, that is the most frightening aspect of all of this. Deciding which 'FDA-approved' medications may or may not kill my patients, was not bad enough; now I have to process all information coming from the FDA through my new and improved bullshit-detector.

No medicinal value in marijuana my ass. These fuckers are completely out-of-touch with the current mood in medicine - no patient should die in pain, ever.

55. Really, that is the really scary part of this.
None of us have any faith in the safety of the medicines we all take. The medicines might me a lot more dangerous than what ails you.

I'm with you on pot and medicinal value. I firmly believe that if the FDA says it has no value then it probably will enable all of us to live to be 200.

Now if we could just get the FDA to rule on booze - which is the really dangerous drug that is killing people right and left. But we can't do that because all of Republicans drink too excess.

50. What a dumbass FDA Inspector! I've used the Morning After Pill at least...
twice in my lifetime (when I was young, and in Holland where it's been around for over 30 years!), and I'm still no member of any "sex cult"!

As a matter of fact, ALL my friends had used the emerg. contraceptive multiple times---but only with the same partner! (Okaym, they should've gone over to a daily contraceptive, but sometimes they forget, and then rush to the doctor the following morning for that "emergency" pill), and NONE have become members of any "sex cult".

What is it with rightwingers that they're so damned ashamed, and uptight about sex???

53. Probably because RW'ers always see things from a "male's" POV...
...and whatever gives one of their "males" wood, is considered sex.

I mean, my younger sis (see avatar) is a Mormon, and she told me, that according to the Mormons believe that the "original sin" spoken of Genesis between Adam and Eve, was Eve introducing "sex" to Adam!

I mean...sex is a sin??? And it's all the woman's fault??

Being a woman, I'm hap-hap-HAPPY I'm NO RW'er! Now I'm beginning to feel sorry for the female RW'ers...

A "sex cult centered around Plan B"? I mean,
:wtf:
Um, I'm like picturing a group of teenage girls. Young Britney has acquired Plan B from a lib-rul pharmacy. They all meet secretly in Tiffani's parents' basement, light candles, put on creepy electronica music, and share the Plan B. Then they whip out the cucumbers and fuzzy handcuffs.

:wtf:???????????????????????????

Jesus, the Onion has serious competition these days. As Jon Stewart put it, "Political satire is officially dead."
