The appearance of a George Bush impressionist alongside the real thing at the White House correspondents' dinner this weekend was seen across the world, but the speech that followed - by Stephen Colbert, a colleague of the American satirist Jon Stewart - was a lot less chummy. 2. Steve Bell is definitely the best political cartoonist working today.

I can't think of anyone else working in the medium who's so consistently vicious, or who has such an assured grasp of Western art history and references it so often in his work (Michelangelo's 'Creation of Adam' here, but some of my other favourites of his have been based on Turner's 'The Fighting Temeraire' and Hogarth's 'A Voluptuary Under the Horrors of Digestion').
