For some reason,
The Dove Foundation's telemarketers decided to call on me today.
I had just finished watching my TiVo'd Daily Show and Colbert Report from last night, and was in a good mood (way to go Jon.) So I actually answered the phone, even though an 800-number came up on my caller ID
Dove Foundation telemarketer (DFT): Good morning, I am calling with the Dove Foundation. We are a non-profit (blah, blah) concerned about the decline in the standards of Hollywood movies.
FLDem5: What decline?
DFT: Are you the parent or grandparent of any children 16 or under?
FLDem5: Yes, I have three children in that age group.
DFT: Hollywood controls the movies and movies are getting edgier and less family friendly and we, as concerned citizens are trying to stop this.
FlDem5: What are you talking about? Almost every weekend there is a family movie I can take my kids to. Disney and Pixar make great family films all the time.
DFT: Well besides them, almost 2/3 of all movies released have an R rating.
FLDem5: Well, aren't there more adults than children in the world?
DFT: We are trying to take back the entertainment industry for families.
FLDem5: I'm sorry, I must not be your target demographic, I'm not an angry conservative.
DFT: Thank you for your time.
Hee hee hee. Childish, yes. But fun.
