2. They're stacking the polls with Repukes
That's the only way Bush could have risen 8% in such short a time.

21. I think they are stacking the polls through some means......
I do Zogby Polls....And I know 20 others that do them too that lean "our way" politically....None of us have been included in any of the recent Zogby Polls, but my sister who is a repuke has done 2 in the last week. The polls had the pukes doing better than usual, but I don't know of a single Dem that was polled in the last 2 rounds...

chosen randomly and from what source?

47. I don't know anything about this specific poll...All I know is that Zogby
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 11:16 AM by converted_democrat
has been releasing poll numbers, and I, nor my other Lib friends have been asked to participate in a long time. Just seems odd to me that I, nor my friends have been asked to participate in polls we normally partake in, and it coincides with a rise in his poll numbers.

On edit--He has been making some gains in the most recent Zogby polls.

48. It does seem a bit suspicious. I've participated in Zogby's quite a bit
and haven't been asked either (as a Liberal Dem).

Sadly it wouldn't surprise me if this polling company deliberately skewed a poll ... but damn sometimes I wish it would still surprise me.

49. I don't blame Zogby persay.....
Edited on Sat Dec-31-05 09:33 AM by converted_democrat
A Zogby rep went to the mat for us during the uproar over the 2004 election results..The rep even went to the hearing, explaining how there was no way mathematically the numbers could have been as far off as they were. So, I don't think "Zogby" is actually to blame, because they have really tried to help us in the past. I find it more likely that a mole in Zogbys' team is aborting Lib/Dem people from their rolls, and replacing them with new pukes...And then labeling the new pukes as Lib/Dems within their system... Then it would "appear" that the Libs/Dems were "approving" of Bush. This would explain why suddenly every Lib/Dem I know is no longer is being asked to participate.

43. Here's the link. I agree w/Begala; Dem's ratings down because
of their INACTIONS. They in effect allowed BushCo to become a dictator and didn't propose alternatives. The country is fed up with Dem congress because they did not push back. Cong. Repugs bad ratings are because of their ACTIONS. Bad legislation, unethical behavior, and the sleaze factor.

They're spinning everything like crazy right now, trying to prop up the Bush regime. And they won't stop until they can't keep it up any more--in other words, until we're in a full-scale recession.

40. right, don't shoot the messenger
there's a logical explanation for this and it is that shrubco has been fighting back rallying support for the war. Also they are spinning the wire-tapping really well. We're not fighting very smart on this IMO. I have yet to see a dem on TV bitch-slap that stupid argument "would you make the CIA hang up on Osama?" This is temporary and I wouldn't get too excited about it.

46. Bush's numbers went up because he hired a pollster to write the speeches
and the plan for victory in Iraq. He told people what the pollster said they wanted to hear.
President Bush's "victory" speech was written by Dr. Peter D. Feaver, "a 43-year-old Duke University political scientist who joined the National Security Council staff as a special adviser in June <2005>," according to Scott Shane in the Sunday New York Times. "White House officials, while saying the document contained contributions from many federal departments, confirmed, according to the Times, that 'its creation and presentation strongly reflected the public opinion research' of Dr. Feaver," Editor & Publisher reported December 3, 2005.

"Feaver, the Times' Scott Shane writes, 'was recruited after he and Duke colleagues presented to administration officials their analysis of polls about the Iraq war in 2003 and 2004. They concluded that Americans would support a war with mounting casualties on one condition: that they believe it would ultimately succeed," Editor & Publisher wrote.

17. Yawn. This kind of stuff flucuates. Not a big deal.
There are random flucations in this stuff, just like in the stock market. Now if the numbers stay changed for a few months, then we have a problem.

To blame CNN is classic "blame the messenger" if you don't like the message.

23. The Dems have to offer a real alternative for the numbers to go up.
So far they nip at BushCorps heels and cave to his demands. The public isn't pro-bush or anti-democrat, it's fed up with both major parties. Don't believe it? Look at how many people didn't bother to vote in '04. 39.7% didn't think it worth the effort. And, '04 had the hightest turnout since '68.
