China worried UN resolution would let Insane Bush start a war with Iran

UNITED NATIONS - China expressed concern that a proposed UN resolution to curb Iran’s nuclear program could lead to a new war and called on Britain and France to eliminate any reference to possible future sanctions or military action against Teheran.

China’s UN Ambassador Wang Guangya remained adamant Monday in his opposition to putting the resolution under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which sets out actions to respond to threats to international peace and security ranging from breaking diplomatic relations to arms embargoes, economic sanctions and the use of force.

Britain and France, which are sponsoring the resolution with strong backing from the United States, insist that the resolution must be under Chapter 7 to make its demand that Teheran suspend uranium enrichment legally binding.

But Wang disagreed, saying China takes the view that all Security Council resolutions are legally binding and there is no need for a reference to Chapter 7 “because Chapter 7 is about enforcement measures.”

11. If China "pulled the plug"
it would have huge economic consequences for both countries. China is growing rapidly, but so was the US in the Roaring 20s. China also has a lot of debt and a banking system that is rife with bad loans, an infrastructure that needs massive upgrading, environmental & labor problems, etc.

While China could still sell goods to Europe, they would be losing the country that is - by far - their biggest customer. All those tens of billions of US dollars they have would suddenly be worthless.

8. * is not insane.
American Deaths (the only number he looks at) have not reached 2500. Until the KIA numbers become critical in the Regime's estimation, War will continue to be an attractive option. WIA numbers don't matter to the Regime except as a loss of War funding.

War with Iran will easily allow * to get a Final Confrontation with the "Axis of Evil" in full swing and I think the Regime has concluded force the Iraqi Kurds and Arabs to coalesce to fight off their ancient foes the Persians.

12. War with Iran will allow easy access to the oilfields
of Kazakhstan. 1.2 million barrels a day, and in the sights of Dead-Eye Dick.

But we will just have to suffer their human rights issues, since we want their oil.
