Russian President Putin takes swipe at Bush administration
This was posted on CNN at 10 am

...amid increasingly vocal American criticism of his domestic and foreign policies, Putin also issued a veiled response to Vice President Dick Cheney's accusations that Moscow is rolling back on democracy and strong-arming its ex-Soviet neighbors.

"Where is all this pathos about protecting human rights and democracy when it comes to the need to pursue their own interests?" said Putin, who also used a fairy-tale reference to criticize the aggressive U.S. course in global affairs.

"We are aware what is going on in the world," he said. "Comrade wolf knows whom to eat, it eats without listening and it's clearly not going to listen to anyone."

CNN's Senior International Correspondent Matthew Chance said the speech -- the text of which had been kept secret until it was delivered -- was not the one that had been expected.

Well of course not. Comrade wolf came in sheep's clothing and somehow managed a second term, and the rest of the world is just as pissed about it as we are.

4. Add Pooty to the long list
of saps double-crossed by Bush. He really stuck his neck out by telling Democrats they have no place criticizing Dubya's WMD lies right before the election. Now he's feeling stung and a little peeved. Dumbass.

5. Well, it looks like I don't have to worry about
Russia; "We are aware what's going on in the world".

They know only too well what the Bush administration is up to. The question is: what are they going to do about it?

Thankx for posting, ekelmore and welcome to the DU!!!:smoke:

7. What are they going to do?
Start selling gaz and oil for russian roubles on a russian exchange. That will be a good start. It looks like the bear has awaken and lit the torch with which it is going to smoke some of that wolf's skin.

the military industrial complex knows that cold is better for business than a hot one. too many dead soldiers can have a peace-nikking effect on populations.

9. International issues aside, it was interesting to actually hear
the leader of a country address the needs of the family in terms of how to help families by making opportunities and care for women and children a priority. He spoke in very basic and concrete terms about this. It was clear he was defining the welfare of women and children as essential to the welfare of the nation.
