Canadians: What's this crap bird-flu thing on the CBC tonight?

I can't believe I'm watching the CBC. They're airing a show that uses fake news, presented as real, to dramatize a bird flu pandemic. They're branding things as "LIVE UPDATE"s that aren't, and they're resorting to fear-mongering of the highest order.

And it occurs to me that the CBC refused to air its documentary about the father of national health care, because doing so might "influence" the upcoming election. Yet they have no problem airing this show that does nothing but scare the bejeezus out of people, and presumably into the Conservatives' hands.

What gives? Between that and the new poll that shows Harper's party up by 10 points, I'm getting really, really worried about what's happening to my friendly country to the north.

I sent an email to one of our news stations regarding the election coverage
as well...I had to speak up, I was so pissed.
