When Michael Hayden become head of the CIA, it will be in no small part with their blessing

Obviously, the NSA ILLEGAL WIRE-TAPPING is NOT a big deal for many of them, just as the patriot act, or even IWR wasn't

Sometimes I wish they wouldn't fight so hard for my civil rights

What frustrates me the most is how they treat Feingold and others who actually do stand up for something. It was a joke when Murtha came out about Iraq, and how many distanced themselves from him

1. These are the times are true allies show themselves

My friend.

The nomination and deliberation of Samuel Alito taught me that....

Very few dem Senators actually wanted to filibuster. Very few. Of the small number who eventually DID filibuster, the majority of them did so as a political calculation.

Initally...Hiliary Clinton & Barack Obama (many others as well) did NOT want to filibuster (I know this since I called every day during the week running up to the Alito confirmation vote, their staff told me that they did not support the filibuster, but they changed their minds ONLY when they believed it could have political ramifications for them, personally. Their decision to filibuster wasn't one based on doing the right thing, if we hadn't screamed, shouted, and incessantly called, e-mailed, visited their offices, it NEVER would have happened).

The majority do not fight when it is most needed.

The few who do have my unending gratitude and admiration.

2. I certainly agree with you on that
If by some miracle Ned Lamont wins against Liberman, I would hope that sends a clear message to the Democrats to remember their roots

5. What do you mean by blessing?
I admit I haven't been following the Hayden hearings as closely as I might (been more interested in the Immigration debate), but I didn't get the impression he was getting a lot of Democratic support.

6. Carl Levin, Dianne Feinstein. Most of them know him personally
My sense is that there will be very little resistence. In fact I will bet money that most of the Democrats in the Senate will have no problem with him. Nixon was impeached because of things like what the NSA did. Hardly a wimper is heard from the opposition party

He will be a shoe in
