"The worst president in history". Why now? Why us?
Why did it have to occur during my lifetime? Subjected to the madmen and their monkey from hell, why did it happen now, why here?

Maybe because he is exactly what we deserve. We've dropped the ball. We let the beast in the front door, now we seem unable to remove him, we seem doomed to live through his every sick dream, unable to stop the nightmare.

As long as he and his asshole buddys are there, doing what they do, WE are to blame, not some distant or future generation, WE let these monsters do it all right in front of our glazed over eyes.

Some might say, "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him", but that's woefully inadequate. In the future the kids will ask, "Why didn't anyone stop them"?

1. a little trivia factoid
from a radio show --

more people watch and vote for the AMERICAN IDOL than vote in presidential elections...

now you know - why..

they use to say it was voter apathy -- it's worse it's voter disinterest

3. That's a distortion
I heard that earlier and it's not accurate. People can vote numerous times on American Idol, so just because more votes came in it doesn't mean more individuals voted for American Idol. The figure I read earlier today is one in ten Americans have voted at least once in the last 5 years, which is way below the vote for the Presidency.

2. and some might say 'don't say we'
Some of us have worked all our lives to prevent this type of thing from happening. We've worked to encourage more citizen participation in government and for citizens to understand the other branches of government, such as the judiciary. We've done this through grassroots activist groups.

From these experiences, I could cite many stories of how ignorant Americans are about their democracy.

But don't say "we." Some of us don't feel we belong in that category.

4. Sometimes FUCK happened
But hey time for you guys to shine in HISTORY

Maybe one day you tell grandchildren of heroic struggle to put US back on right track.
Maybe fate put you here.
Maybe destiny say American people need to look like real heroes again.
Who knows
Who can tell what future hold

But future not left to chance
Future decided by people themself.
Just a matter of who the DECIDER is.
The pathetic chimp or the heroic Americans.

most Muricans don't give a shit unless it affects them. On the bright side, it was only one third or less who fought for independence... so maybe there is some hope

13. But it DOES affect them..........
they're just too lazy or ignorant to realize it. Everything this maladministration does affects their lives, everyday. It's raining anvils and people are getting hit left and right, but until an anvil falls directly on their own heads they don't realize it. Our citizens are so ill-informed it's pathetic but I guess when you're working two jobs "to put food on your families" there's precious little time for research. What the hell are you going to do?

7. That is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is
what to do with the time that is given to us.

There are other forces at work besides the will of evil. ;-)

9. BushCo is a reflection of the American people and culture.
He did not come to power in a vacuum. It is no longer about
him, it is about the American people. Can they do the right thing?
Can they be independent thinkers, with a moral compass and show
some courage and strength?

or the adult. Time will tell if the American people can grow up.

15. America did 'grow up'
into Dick Cheney!

So sad, when it could've been John Edwards.

(...to further expand the metaphor).

16. I never wanted to live in interesting times--
remember Iran-Contra, BCCI and the theft of the PROMIS software? My hubby and I read all of Danny Casolero's articles at that time--I knew that this was a very dangerous set-up against the people of the US. There was so much involved, Danny called it the Octopus because it had so many tentacles. Now look where we are, with some of the same players. Yes, there were hearings and people were indicted, only to be pardoned by the man who said "I wasn't in the loop." Now, we know he was the loop. Those who chastise Clinton for lying under oath for a BJ then how about someone lying under oath for screwing the American people and the Constitution? These same felons that went against the Constitution and against us, are some who are now worshipped by the neo-con constituency. Americans did not pay attention, did not demand justice--we will all face the consequences. I don't care what excuses are used to justify not following through investigations after Clinton gained office, we are in this mess because it wasn't exposed. And remember, BCCI is a Pakistani created bank which was accused of money laundering for dark purposes, such as terrorism and drugs. We will all reap what is sown from our very inaction at the time.
