My thoughts on the Liberal agenda to share....Add yours??
I posted this on a hobby board where I know & respect the other members. They are mostly right wing (it's an airgun forum) but like I said I respect them highly.I'd like to add that many posters are very aware of current politics while some just have cranial rectosis. Nice cross section of America IMHO.

"This is a post to help those who don't understand we are all in the same boat. The politics of division(in this case Republicans Vs Dem's) have got us fighting each other like barking dogs. No need for that folks!.

So to add clarity I will try & outline what I & other Liberals see as an alternative course for America.

--------------------------------------------------------

First off, we need to regulate trade. The premise that we can compete without tarrif's in a global market, where wages & policies fluctuate wildly is invalid. There will always be those that sell out for the lowest common denominator & greatest profits. That must stop along with ending incentives to outsource & offshore Americans corporations.

Illegal Immigration is just that-Illegal. Simply re-instate the policies the IRS had for tracking SS#'s to employers & require enforcement. No illegal jobs = less illegal immigrants(I did not say none that impossible).

For Gods sake folks get off the crack!!! An oil based economy is suicide at this point. Only makes sense if you SELL oil eh??. In an earlier post I mentioned the Oil Bourse. This is a financial market being formed. It involves China & Russia as partners so it is not a small problem. They will start selling oil on the market in Euro's, not American $. This will certainly devalue the $ further yada yada yada.
Not to mention the sheer insanity of PAYING our ENEMIES!!
By paying inflated prices for oil we are sapping our Nation from the inside out.
What to do??. What freaking Henry Ford & Daimler Benz did way back when. BioFuels!!!. The diesel engine was designed to run on vegatable based oils. The technology has improved where the pollutants are lower than most gas vehicles & durability & mileage are far far better. They are all the rage everywhere else in the world & that is a clue. GM & Ford even sell them there!!.

Sure would be a shame to put American farmers & the MILLIONS of support positions to work at viable long term jobs. Yeah that sure would suck. Plain & simple, time to get off the crack folks. Hydrogen is a pipe dream BTW, never will be viable for the forseable future. Oil companies know that & that's why they tout it.

We also need a complete overhaul of the Medical insurance system. It has come to the point where the free market is broken. The only humane & cost effective route for health care is a National system.

There are many more issues but these are most pressing. I sorely wish the Republicans had held true to thier voice of being fiscally responsible. Your party has been hijacked by Oil men with bad motives. Time to take responsibility & throw the bums out. Democrats also need to clean house but we need to set priorities & get these oil crooks out of office first. So I'm asking us all to join together & vote for Ameica these coming elections. Work locally & make sure votes are properly counted so we can take America back for Americans!!

Thanks Y'all!"

1. The last line...
.... Work locally & make sure votes are properly counted so we can take America back for Americans!!.....

...Is the key. We open the lock of corrupted elections, stick our foot in the door, get our people elected, and it won't be long before People once again take their constitutionally protected place on the front-burner of American politics.

It's the vote, stupid!

2. " it's not who votes, it is he who counts the votes that matters"
I'm not sure if that is the exact quote but I do agree....
I hope positive suggestions as to what we stand for, posted in more open forums will be very helpfull. The more people exposed to an alternative (wich the media refuses to report) the better.

3. The four things that absolutely have to be done now
1. Get the hell out of Iraq and the ME, NOW.

2. Publicly finance election campaigns for every office, from dog-catcher to President. You can fund this by either diverting money from the defense budget or by taxing lobbyists(my favorite) or both.

3. Repeal the '96 Telecom Act ASAP. We have got to get the media out of the hands of the five corporations that control it now.

4. Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. These are the public's airwaves, not just the neo-cons and fundies.
