Last time I checked, installing a "Supreme Leader" isn't anywhere in the US Constitution, was it? Does anyone know how to get an investigation rolling?

4. No, Thought Crime is thought....
This is overthrow the government crime by saying. This is overthrow the government crime, by trying it. I don't know about you, but I do like the government in the Constitution.

6. I can't believe you're making me defend that POS, but that's not what he
said. He stated "Maybe we should have Supreme Leader Bush. I kind of like the sound of that."

Now clearly, you can spin this into advocating for overthrow of the government, but you have to read a lot into it and no court in the land would even hear this case.

2. "Supreme Leader"........don't forget his Executive Orders and signing
statements. All he has to do is SAY he is the "Supreme Leader" and remember, "The Constitution is nothing but a Damn piece of paper."

7. I agree this is a stupid law. However similar laws are sorta enforced...
Played any video games/had any conversations about killing the president lately? They usually send over secret service to check that out, even if it's just some kid in junior high.

8. Overthrow what?
The wealthy are the only people that make it far enough to run. Whoever ends up in the WH believes in exponential growth and the "American way of life". Nobody since day one has been shy about using American force when they want. The government is run by think tanks and global corporations. The vote may or may not be rigged, but even if it isn't, we end up with only two wealthy people to choose from.

What would they be overthrowing?

13. Did he advocate force, violence or assassination?
If not, then he's not in deep anything. But I do believe it was a trial balloon. And for that he should be admonished. We should never forget this. Looks like a good quote for a sig line.

14. why aren't we calling this for what it is?
this is feeblemindedness. Kristol was obviously joking, pointlessly making fun of Iran's title.

99% of people reading this here at DU know this, but very few are pointing this out. Same with the thread at C&L. Do people think this is good? I think it's really bad.
