Gay Marriage Amendment Met with Ridicule in the Workplace
The most recent attempt by George Bush and the Congressional Republicans to wheel out this same old, tired, transparent wedge issue doesn't fool even the most gullible of my right wing workers.

It's laughable to the point that anyone who attempts to discuss it as a real issue is ridiculed to the point of tears.

Come on. No one who fell for this in 2002 and 2004 will fall for it again.

The war, the economy, health care, property taxes, immigration reform, energy prices and education are on everyone's mind and the tips of their tongues.

This foolish amendment attempt is seen as a ploy by even the most ardent Bush supporters, if you can find any who will admit it.

I know that we here at DU believe that our fellow Americans may fall for this again, after all, we could see it coming years ago, and a majority of them couldn't. However, even right wing talk show hosts like Michael Savage and local guys I've heard have ridiculed this attempt for what it really is, a "smoke screen".

You see, I don't really think we at DU are smarter than the average American. I think we are ahead of the curve because we are more skeptical and less gullible. But when the rest of them catch on, and I believe they have, the Bush Administration and the Republican Congress are in for a huge surprise.

Call me optimistic but that's how I see it.

2. I think he miscalculated this one....we have soldiers dying....
and an economy that is on the brink of what...we don't know yet....and he is talking about disenfranchising tax paying Americans...and it is becoming more apparant that he only cares about the Jerry Fallwells and Pat Robertsons of the US....and this is starting (finally) to piss people off....Finally....geeze....could it have taken any longer....

But I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with these unhappy, disenfranchised screwed over Repugs....they are turning on the admin and it's going to be nasty....

3. I've seen something similar
just in general during the last couple of years some kind of surprising signs of awakening.

I'm thinking (hoping) that Rove, et al, have somehow missed something important, they underestimated the social progress that has occurred. Their polls had some flaw that caused them to miss it.

Here's hoping...

What do they do?

Debate if two consenting adults should have the right to marry. What is wrong with this picture?

7. On my local RW hate/talk radio here in Lost Angeles (KFI), in the AM
Bill Handel, the ultimate Bush shill for years, has taken to MOCKING Bush outright over the gay marriage thing, and deriding him for ignoring the oil thing. When even HANDEL, for pete's sake, thinks Bush should leave the gays alone and get to work on energy independence and global climate change and get the hell out of Irag, you KNOW that change is in the air.

9. Slightly off-topic, but Handel's brother is apparently a porno director.

10. I'm not surprised. Handel is a vile, disgusting person. HUGE ego,
and potty-brained. Yells all the time. If I were his wife I would be ashamed of myself. She probably loves his money, is all.
