Now that Montenegro left the Yugoslav union,it was not to surprising.

1. Why did they bother?
Everyone else dumped them. I guess they need to get the legal niceities over so that Montenegro can be legally responsible for it portions of the federal debt. Now they both have to print new stationery.

WHATEVER happens in Germany, Ilija Petkovic’s Serbia & Montenegro look destined to go down in the history books.

This World Cup will be the last major tournament when the team competes under its current name.

On May 21 Montenegro voted for independence from the union with Serbia which has stood since the end of the First World War.

What effect it will have on this campaign remains to be seen but keeper Dragoslav Jevric is the only non-Serb left in the 23-man squad.
