John Thune won't let it happen!
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 02:52 PM by sparosnare
He won't allow a very small minority of people in this country to undermine what has served as a fundamental foundation of our country - a fundamental foundation of our society. It has for thousands of years! :eyes:

So says Mr. Thune on the floor of the Senate, CSPAN2. I've been listening for the last couple of hours; McCain is up now, making me shout things at my computer monitor.

Favorite phrase of the repukes: "liberal activist judges" and they say it with so much venom. x(

3. Yes they are.
Why does it have to be one or the other? Their reasoning is that if gays are allowed to marry, then traditional marriage between a man and a woman will be meaningless. That's a rediculous way to think.

6. it needs to be personalized:
someone needs to ASK, live on tv, one of these heteromarried bigots, "are you saying you would leave your wife if we allow gays to marry?"

5. Yeah... Just hate those Judges that--can actually read.
Republicans must be "functionally illiterate" given their inability to understand the "Bill of Rights" (as well as the rest of the Constitution). "Functionally" is used because many apparently can read and even pronounce some of the words (they just can't "understand" what they've read).

2. I was listening to McCain sounding Presidential like (in his imagination)!
Fortunately only during a break in the Guy James show.

7. You mean the "liberal activist judges" appointed by Republicans?
Like the one in Mass. who approved same-sex marriages? The one appointed by a Republican governor?

8. Yesterday, Sam Brownback said
(words to this effect) "Some people think we're pushing this amendment because it's an election year, but that is not true."

9. Oooh, he's such a liar!!
I can't stand that little weasel. Kennedy's up now calling a spade a spade - it's an attempt to impose discrimination against people and the states.

13. When those judges picked Bush they weren't activist
Often wondered how a republican could drive when they can only see a very narrow field.
