Will we all be wailing and moaning on November 8th?
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 09:03 PM by Philosoraptor
I think a lot of Democrats are becoming defeated and complacent, and some are taking this November's election to be some sort of D landslide. I hate to pee on their parade, although I'd be happy as hell of course.

But, there's always the reality of the other side and their insidiousness.

1. Not A Chance In Hell
Go ahead and throw things at me. Tell me how I'm not doing anything to help the party win. Whatever. It's not my responsibility to get this country on track. I'm at least more coherent than the average idiot who doesn't even give a shit enough to realize what a dictatorship we're becoming. At least I see what's occuring.

But I honestly don't think there is anything We can do about it. Either us on DU, or the democrats period.

THERE IS NO WAY THE REPUBS ARE GOING TO ALLOW THE DEMS TO GAIN CONTROL OF EITHER HOUSE. IT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. You can hope, but November 3, you will all be disappointed again.

We're democrats. We Lose. We're Consistent. Get used to it. If you want to win, lose the conscience and become a repub. I hear they have great victory bashes.

walk away with our tails between our legs, we did it in November 2004, now talk is cheap, we need each other more than ever, it's going to (I hate to say it) hard work, but I will not give up to these thugs.

6. Wife and I are working our asses off for our local candidates
We are doing what we can to make November a true thanksgiving month. We are hardly complacent. We have a couple tough races here.

7. That depends. If you think we'll win an election, you'll be disappointed
but, if we set as a goal to create fair elections by somehow monitoring and reporting to the world how f*%ked up our country is by showing them how corrupt our government is and how manipulated our supposed elections are, then we could possibly win.

I say, forget campaigning. Let's set up teams of enormous size and scope and depth to monitor every single polling place throughout the country.

Maybe, just maybe, that would do some good.

One caveat. If the oligarchs decide that they need to quell the masses against revolution, they might let one of their Democrats win. That's not a "real" win, but it would probably feel like one at first.

9. Yes
It's to hard to get Dems to do anything but stab each other in the back. Repukes control EVERYTHING, why would they give that up? They despise democracy and fairness, don't look for that to change anytime soon.
