Bush taking Elvis-fan Koizumi to Graceland
Bush taking Elvis-fan Koizumi to Graceland

WASHINGTON -- U.S.-Japanese diplomacy is getting All Shook Up.

The White House announced Tuesday that President George W. Bush is taking Japanese Prime Minister and big-time Elvis fan Junichiro Koizumi to Memphis, Tennessee, for a pilgrimage to Graceland.

The trip is scheduled for June 30, a day after the two leaders are scheduled to meet at the White House, Bush spokesman Tony Snow said in a statement.

Bush regales in telling about Koizumi's love of Elvis as part of his stump speech. Said Snow, "The president and Mrs. Bush look forward to introducing the prime minister to the beauty and warm hospitality of the people of the Volunteer State."

No Shit. Every Japanese man between 50 and 60 is obliged to be a huge fan of "Puresurii". Every Japanese man over 60 is a fan of "Shinatoraa", and every Japanese man between 40 and 50 is a fan of "Jon Renon". If anything, it's further evidence of what a dumb, kissass clone Koizumi is.

When Richaado Giaa came here, Koizumi insisted on dancing with him "Shall we Dansu?" , but Gere insisted on being the "man".

"You are handsome man, Richaado Giaa, but Pulezident Bushu is real cowboy. He took me his lanch and show me how to chop wood!"

By the way, I kid about the accents, but to be fair, I doubt Bush or many other American politicians could say anything in Japanese beyond "Arigato" and "Toyota"...

At least Koizumi can speak some English.

The kiss-ass...

4. I've got the blues
So bad. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

Bush in Graceland. Is there no end to the sacrileges we have to endure?

"Now over here, Koi-zoom-zoom, is the room where Elvis invented negro music."

5. Well, Elvis was kind of a right-winger.
Loved Nixon, and considered J Edgar Hoover to be "The greatest Living American"...

6. Elvis was a half-insane control freak
It's no wonder that he'd feel most comfortable with the authoritarian right. But still, this is Elvis we're talking about here. I'm not an Elvis guy, but the thought of Bush wandering around the crib of an American rock 'n roll icon gives me the squirms.
