***DIAL UP WARNING-LOTS OF PICS*** Who'll stop the rain?
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 08:43 AM by tjwash
Long as I remember
The rain been comin' down.

Clouds of myst'ry pourin'
Confusion on the ground.

Good men through the ages,
Tryin' to find the sun;

And I wonder,

Still I wonder,

Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia,
Seekin' shelter from the storm.

Caught up in the fable,
I watched the tower grow.

Five year plans and new deals,
Wrapped in golden chains.

And I wonder,

Still I wonder

Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin',
How we cheered for more.

The crowd had rushed together,
Tryin' to keep warm.

Still the rain kept pourin',
Fallin' on my ears.

And I wonder,

Still I wonder

Who'll stop the rain.

Peace

1. Excellent photo essay.
Unfortunately, I'm gonna be running CCR songs thru my head all day.

Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail To The Chief",
oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no senator's son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no,

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, why don't they help themselves? oh.
But when the taxman come to the door,
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no.
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no.

Yeh, some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give,
oh, they only answer, more, more, more, yoh,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no military son, SON, NO
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, NO NO

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate son, son son son

6. Fortunate Son is another one of my absolute faves.
I may do a photo-essay on that real soon. Right now though the one I am brewing in my mind is Requiem mass in D minor by Mozart. I'm collecting just the right pics for it rigtht now.

12. Not Really...
...I'll even provide the translation.

Example:

Confutatis maledictis--When the accursed have been confounded
Flammis acribus addictis--And given over to the bitter flames
Voca me cum benedictis--Call me with the blessed.

I could do an entire photo-essay on those three lines alone.

9. Any way you can turn your photo essay into a flash presentation?
That would be a great entry into the HuffPo Contagious Festival.

4. Not this guy...

* reacts to the media as he gets caught in a downpour as he departs Boeing Field in Seattle, Wash., Friday, June 16, 2006. He was there for a fundraiser for Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash.

18. Nice work, thanks.
Great song for a photo essay, and you pretty well nailed it.

I always thought that the last verse was about Woodstock.
