about this great statistic, which proves rush is wrong when he says
"open the paper... pages of jobs. The jobless are lazy bums"
see my sig below for the two links.
PS zero job shortage, doable via
NEW WPA
CO-OPS
SHARE THE WORK, .....as was once begun in france, but obviously something ended that plan. Probably their infamous RW.
PS a new WPA, in mexico, would end our problem with illegals here.
PS i think i also put a page in Demopedia.. button at bottom of forum pages here... on the job shortage.. not sure i recall that right. Might have just planned to do that. so much to do, so little time LOL.
OK, here is a paste from me page in demopedia.. no links anymore to dmpedia. hmmmmm
Job shortage
From Demopedia
"Unemployment rate" is a bad term ... rightwingers immediately say "blame the lazy jobless. There are lots of jobs out there."
"Job shortage" is the term to use. It immediately wipes out the RW idea, and places blame on those who run the economy.
"Job Shortage" avoids any doubt about who is to blame. "Unemployment rate" leaves open the possibility that the jobless are to blame.
To prove that a job shortage exists, just visit the Bureau of Labor Statistics .. they laboriously tally the actual number of job openings nationwide. Take that real number and subtract it from the sum of
1. those seeking jobs
2. the "discouraged" who have given up even looking - because of the job shortage.
=====================
Today, the numbers are 16 million "seekers and discouraged",
minus four million,.... giving a Job Shortage of 12 million.
======================
For job openings, see the top right corner of the homepage.. "openings level"....
http://www.bls.gov/jlt/
For "seekers and discouraged", see the top center of homepage, where it says "officially" and "hidden" - their terms for my "seekers and discouraged"....
http://www.njfac.org
=====================
In sum, don't use a RW term... instead, "own the language. Frame the debate".
Use the LW term, which is Job Shortage.
