FBI BOUGHT The Boots-Military Outfits-Rental Cars & Cameras For Miami 7
Monday, June 26th, 2006
"Aspirational Rather than Operational" - 7 Arrested in Miami Terror Plot

...................

AMY GOODMAN: What about the evidence or lack of evidence that was found?

MAX RAMEAU: Well, a lot of show has been made about the militaristic boots that they had and the gear and the outfits. Well, it turns out these guys didn't have enough money or enough organization to get these things for themselves. The FBI bought them the boots that we’ve heard so much about, bought them the military outfits that we’ve heard so much about. If you look at the indictment, the biggest piece of evidence, it seems to me, that they have is that the group may have taken pictures of a bunch of targets in South Florida. But the guys couldn't afford their own cameras, so the federal government bought them the cameras with which they took the pictures. They couldn't get downtown and all the other places by themselves. The federal government rented them the cars that they needed to get downtown in order to take the pictures. So it looks like they really didn't have too much capacity.

4. I saw that report today
According to what they said, on the long list of stuff they wanted, the 'Miami 7' apparently neglected to request any sort of explosive devices. One person on the show said that a joke going around Liberty City right now is that they were planning on kicking the Sears Tower down with their new boots...

distraction.

Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 09:36 PM by Art_from_Ark
Infiltrate a group who just like to talk shit, then offer to set them up as bona fide "terrorists". Then win accolades from a terrified citizenry for nipping "terrorism" in the bud.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

And family members of two of the suspects. One mother said she went to the flea market and bought her son the camoflauge pants that the media is making a big deal about. She paid one dollar.

9. Check this interview with Brother Corey at Muckraker and tell me
if he sounds like a terrorist. Confused, probably. Terorrist, no. He does think of himself as a soldier and he may have wanted to dress as a soldier, but it sounds like a soldier in terms of disciplining his group to serve his God in a socially positive way.

14. If the FBI wants to do a sting operation
Wouldn't it be smarter to approach this in the opposite direction? Pretend to be a bunch of poor minority Muslims looking for financing and a sponsor? Work their way up instead of down? Steal Al-Qaida's money instead of ours?

They produced the "Willie Horton 7" with this operation. It's the "bring out the Southern base" tactic for November.

20. These folk want desperately to make Blacks a part of the GWOT!
Making up facts to support such a notion just had to be done since Blacks weren't cooperating themselves. For whom are those Halliburton-built detention centers intended again?

23. shades of the sixties!
remember when you had agents infilterating certain groups and attempting to incite violent actions? The government also set up a bogus "communist" leaning group and solicited recruitment in said group. Shades of cointelpro, baby. It seems if they don't have enough action, they'll create it on their own.

26. If this group were truly conspiring to blow up buildings,
they need to be tried through the criminal justice system.
if they were more aspirational that operational is a non-issue, conspiracy is a criminal offense.
JUST STOP TRYING TO MAKE THIS GROUP OUT TO BE BIN LADEN JR.

27. Crooks and Liars: Jon Stewart's take on the "Miami 7"
http://movies.crooksandliars.com/TDS-Miami-Seven.mov

Jon Stewart takes a look at the case known to many as "The Miami Seven." He examines the careful and decisive evidence told to us by Alberto Gonzales:

Gonzales: These individuals wish to wage a quote: "full ground war against the United States."

Stewart: ...Seven guys?
I’m not a general. I am not anyway affiliated with the military academy, but I believe if you were going to wage a full ground war against the United States, you need to field at least as many people as say a softball team.

Please Alberto, don’t take any questions-you were doing just fine up until then. That was followed up by some careful analysis of the men involved in the plot.

A: One of the individuals was familiar with the Sears Tower- had worked in Chicago and had been there-so was familiar with the tower, but in terms of the plans it was more aspirational rather than operational.

Stewart: No weapons, no actual contact with al-Qaeda, but one of them had been to Chicago…

I'm sure it must have been part of their sting operation or whatever, right?
