What is your dream for this country?
What is your ideal United States of America like? Short or long term, local, state or national, cynical or optomistic, share your thoughts on what you want your country to be.

2. We really should not accept fascism in
America. I know in a truly tolerant society if there is a truly hard right wing, it has the right to exist. However, we don't seem to allow the opposite extreme, a purely communist hard left wing to exist so why should we allow facism?

4. Rich business criminals in jail.
All of them, everyone who guts their company's pension plans, holds their bank accounts overseas, fires employees so they can hire overseas labor cheaply to make a profit, they should all be locked in a maximum security prison for the rest of their life.

fix this country's many crying domestic needs

8. For the immediate present
to be Bush-free. For the long run, to have the BILLIONS squandered on Iraq devoted to education here at home --- money to pay decent salaries to and attract good teachers. Money to have well-equipped schools. Money to raise a generation that can compete with China and not just sit on the couch eating a box of Yodels and watching 'American Idol' or Bill O'Reilly. An educated, discerning, thinking electorate is the hope of the future. I'm not holding my breath.

9. To not exist
Along with every other state and corporation, if they're even different.

You said dream, and in my dream last night I ran through a wall, so.

10. Revoke corporate personhood rights
& put WE THE PEOPLE back in power.

Proposed Constitutional Amendments to revoke corporate constitutional "rights," reverse Buckley v. Valeo, and establish a right to vote: http://reclaimdemocracy.org/political_reform/proposed_constitutional_amendments.html

snip...

Editors' Note: These three proposed Amendments to the U.S. Constitution are being considered as a "Platform for Democracy in America." We believe a positive, proactive and ambitious platform is needed to reverse the decline of democracy in America and we invite your feedback on this approach and individual amendments (please use the "send us your comments" button at bottom).
