So there I was, driving across the George Bush Tollway, when
a car came whipping up beside me and the driver began frantically gesturing for me to roll my window down. He seemed quite excited. I complied, thinking perhaps he wanted my business card (I have business signs on my car), and he gave me a hugh!!111!!! grin and a thumbs up, and shouted out "Hell, yeah! Impeach Bush!!!"

I then understood whence he was about, and grinning, I returned the gesture. He sped up and went his merry way, having seen and reacted to the IMPEACH BUSH sticker in the dead center of my car's rear window.

That's been happening to me a lot, lately.

I think the sea has changed.

1. So Bush's road is a 'tollway'
strangely that makes some sense to me

Runs east-west across north Dallas.

6. is it the one that is supposed
to link you up with that huge airport? So my choices when flying to Texas are driving on the Bush tollway in Dallas, or flying to the Bush airport in Houston?

Yikes!

9. You can get to DFW without going on the Bush turnpike...(m)
You'd have to get off at 635, LBJ Freeway.

And the airport in Houston will forever be Intercontinental to me! :-)

13. With KKKarl and the Dick on bored it could be misconstrued as
a trollway.

2. I gave the thumbs up to a guy here who had a simple, handmade
IMPEACH sign in his window. He knew just what I was referencing :)

4. What was the point behind this posting?
Do you mean to belittle those who post stories of their experiences with others reactions to their public displays of protest? If so, shame on you.

7. I was expressing delight at a chance meeting of a like-minded person
while going about my day.

I don't understand where you see the belittling bits. It was meant to be a positive post.

10. He probably didn't understand the geographic reference.
I know what it's like to live in this part of the country and see anti-Bush stickers on cars. It makes my heart go pitter-pat. :-)

5. Hey, I was near the Bush tollway this afternoon (m)
(corner of Frankford and Coit to be precise) and I saw a great bumper sticker:

The Bush White House
Home of the Whopper
Over 1,000,000 told

For those of you who don't know the area, this is in Collin County, probably one of the reddest counties in Texas.

So, Prisoner#6, if you see a silver Odyssey with "W=Worst President Ever" in the rear window, be sure to say hi. :hi:

That's when I assume my role as "mom as taxi driver". :-)

Keep spreading the faith! There are a lot more of "us" around here than most people realize!

20. I'm not trying to be a downer
But I have taken my progressive bumper stickers off because I am sick of being run off the road, cut off, and screamed at by right wingers. Not a day passes when my "coexist," "Peace and Love are Moral Values," and "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" stickers didn't cause some sort of blowback. It's really kind of depressing that people would actually run me off the road and roll down their windows to scream at me and flick me off for these statements.

And this is in Maryland and D.C.--blue states.

I think people avoid yelling at me because I'm 6'4" tall and I look like a biker. Which I was, years ago.

23. I live in Oklahoma, and my
"Compared to Bush, Nixon wasn't so bad." Sticker gets very strong reactions (positive) from people. Lots of thumbs up and waves. And the acknowledgement is becoming more frequent, too.
