Poll question: Clinton vs. Bloomberg
Which of these two would you vote for for President if they were the candidates?
Hillary Clinton or Mike Bloomberg. I know Bloomberg is a Republican, but he is a very liberal one, is was a life-l Long Dem before he became Mayor and has Dem positions (eg: Pro-Gay Marriage, Pro-Choice, etc.)If it were these two I'm really not sure who I would support.
No other Please and give reasons why.

1. That should be a no-brainer---the one with the D.
I'm surprised it's not. Didn't Bloomberg kiss Bush's ass in 2004?

2. While Each Has Their Downsides... Bloomberg
Edited on Sun Jul-09-06 04:30 PM by Tace
I believe he would be a good candidate to deal with the economic and financial crises that the nation faces.

I don't think I'd like either of their foreign policies, or a lot of their domestic policies.

Bloomberg has said, however, that he believes marijuana should be legalized. That's pretty cool.

Edit: fix grammar

he's getting fucked"

Looks like some of you have been his clients!

3. wow
I admit I am stunned that people would pick a republican over Hillary, if he were THAT liberal, he'd be a Dem.

Gotta be kidding me.

23. I know, but in this poll he has an "(I)" which a lot of DUers like
Look at the support here for Kinky Friedman in TX. It has nothing to do with his positions, which are often extreme right wing.

26. Just FYI - he was a Dem until he ran for mayor the first time
He switched so that he could actually win.

Not that I like that guy. And now that he's a Repuke, he does have to toe the line.

12. What the F**K are you talking about? Bloomberg kissed Bush's ass
Bloomberg was supposedly a Dem. Then he switched to Repug to get elected in NY. Now, this thread says he'd switch to independent. He "is what he is"???? He kissed Bushes ass in 2004. You liked that?

Now maybe to you that is consistency. But to anyone with reasoning ability it says something far different. Bloomberg is a sellout of the highest order--Clinton doesn't come close to that level of perfidy.

Get a clue.

14. As a NY-er I am offended and incensed to see this poll on DU!
Edited on Sun Jul-09-06 07:40 PM by robbedvoter
I am ashamed and angry that NYC-ers allowed that louse, Bloomberg stay on by default (the lowest # of voters).
I am far from a Hillary fan - in fact I am collecting signatures for Tassini - her opponent in the primary. But I voted for her in a heartbeat given the choice.

What's f*ing Bloomberg doing as a choice on DU??????

And since when is he an "I"? Bush's toady!

22. It depends on whether Bloomberg is a serious candidate or a spoiler.
If voting for Bloomberg would elect a Repub I wouldn't. If I thought he might win I would probably vote for him. He's socially liberal and fiscally moderate which is what we need.
