and NPR was reporting the same number as well as hundreds injured and both numbers expected to rise. I work with a lot of people from India and they seem to be having (what appears to me) an odd reaction. They are just kind of shaking their heads and saying that this is becoming a fact of life in India, with bombings happening all the time.
Had this happened in Iraq, there would be dozens of threads by now. I have many coworkers with family over there. An event on this scale is NOT commonplace and they are worried sick.
It's no lesser tragedy because it happened in India. It's a sad testimony to what our political discourse has become.
