Wave and Fires and folks are suffering.

Any DU'ers have some personal stuff. Here in my part of the US it's been "hotter 'n hell" with Ozone Alerts and humidity with stagnant air making the Ozone seem like it's sticking to your skin and your pores can't breath.

I wonder without airconditioning in my car and home...how I would breathe and I don't have any impairments. What about the poor...folks who have cars that the air conditioner quit and they've got to get to their jobs...and maybe they can't afford to run the air conditioner like they used to because of high utility bills.

Something's going on in the midwest but the reports are spotty...

How is it this Summer in your neck of the City or Woods? Seems like AMERICA NEWS unless it's rapes and killings sort of gets pushed aside these days...but then I've tried to avoid CNN/MSNBC for a couple of weeks. So, maybe they are on AMERICA 24/7 and I just don't know about it.

2. Was out all day,
we hit 100 according to the weatherman but at my farm I had a reading inside the barn at 103 and outside it hit 108. We have an entire week of this coming.

I do worry about people getting through this. I don't watch any news but occasionally local so I wouldn't know if it is being reported.

3. In Yuma, AZ - normally a hot spot
the temps are about average or below- only 104 at 6:59 pm. It rained a bit last night, so we can't really complain.

5. In Bermuda today
It was rainy.

It was actually kind of fun watching the storm come across the island from the ocean... but then it was pretty much all about dreary rain.

7. Four fires buring in our county
and not much resouce to fight with. Bigger fires in other parts of the state and people are few/far between here abouts. If wind kicks up more and they don't get things out SOON, we may have to evacuate. Miles and miles of fuel with nothing much between fire and town

Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 09:55 PM by KoKo01
and the smell of the smoke made it hard to deal. It was in our clothes and in our hair...you just couldn't get away from it the way the wind blew.

9. Lots of smoke. Which ever way the wind comes, it brings smoke
Fires every direction. Great spring = LOTS of grasses = LOT of fuel now.

Fire crews are in other places. We're pretty much SOL around here
