US Dept of State: Rice plans visit to Middle East to "calm tensions"
Yes, if that doesn't calm those people down, nothing will. PS: Ferragamo's in Lebanon is at Abdel Razzak Building, Banks' street, Solidere, Central District, Beirut.

====
Secretary Rice intends to travel to the Middle East to help calm tensions in the region. "At some point in the future, the secretary intends to travel to the region," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack stated during the daily press briefing. Secretary Rice will return to the United States from a trip to the G8 Summit in Russia before deciding when to make her Middle East trip.

1. Hmmm.
My personal impression is that Condi can cool off any room she enters, only not in the way she's intending.

Thanks for the brilliant shoe reference, Bluebear---never forget!

7. Plan on continued fighting for a while, because she's hitchhiking to get
there. Taking the slow boat. Biking. Ridin' the rails. Mozeying...sauntering in designer boots. No rush to avert further loss of life. Stalling by design. Betcha that "in the future" means sometime mid next week.
