Hezbollah is definitely supported by Iran and Syria...
"John Bolton, the US ambassador to the UN, implicated Iran and Syria as being at least partially to blame for supporting Hezbollah...

It is ironic to speak of John Bolton - the same person who was honoured a few months ago by the Hariri ruling coalition in Lebanon.

Yes, Hezbollah receives the support of Iran and Syria, just as the Hariri coalition receives the support of US, France, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, and possibly Israel indirectly. "

This is pretty much from the horses mouth. I don't think we need to be skeptical about this claim. Especially when people who would no doubt be rebutting it in public (were there any real doubt about it), are confirming it.

1. These people are so skeptical of us...
how are we ever going to get them to understand reality? I don't trust our country very much, but most of these conspiracy theories are just baseless.

2. That's not proof, of course, of the claim that they control Hizbollah

and are orchestating the attacks against Israel. No more than the U.S. can completely control what Israel does. I would further imagine the U.S., though, has far more influence over Israel than Syria, Iran, or Lebanon has over the myraid collection of Hizbollah militants.

3. Unless I see proof, I will consider these claims of Syria/Iran supporting
Hezbollah as pure propaganda. We have been fooled before. Remember Saddam? He was practically taking orders from Al Quaeda, remember? And no one could have predicted the levees breaking. And the insurgents are in their last throws. And those weapons of mass destruction are in the area north, south, east, and west of baghdad.

Anything that will make the American public feel they have a common enemy (Syria/Iran/NKorea), these lying assholes will spit and foam at the mouth to get us to believe it. I don't believe a single word these scum say and I never will.

4. Why would al-Jazeera say that Syria and Iran support Hezbollah...
unless it was true. Don't you think that al-Jazeera, out of all the networks in this world, the network that frequently receives tapes from al-Qaeda, would know?

I am interested in the facts. Just because Iran and Syria are supporting Hezbollah, does not justify invading Syria or Iran. If you assumed that is what I meant, you interpreted my comments wrongly.

6. I would like concrete proof
I didn't assume that's what you meant; I am just extremely cautious of believing any accusations such as that without seeing some concrete proof.

Al-Jazeera stating something without any facts to back it up is not my idea of concrete proof.

7. Funny, I see the US as partly to blame for supporting Israel.
Guess that logic works two ways.

8. But I don't understand why you think that Bolton saying something
would make it so. The man is a propagandist of the highest order.

9. He far from the only one saying that
- Sryia has said it
- Iran has said it
- Hezbollah has said it
- Arab media says it

Wars are won and lost on logistics in the long run. Hezbollah survives on the support its gets from Iran and Syria. It is their surrogate to pester Israel, and its been working.

While it truly pains me to say it, Bolton and Bush are right. If Syria told them to stop, they would have to.
