My pro-union Letter makes it into print
While I've never been in a union, I was offended by a previous LTTE that disparaged union workers and was outraged by toll booth workers making $35,000.

Another response.
I think you should get down on your knees every day and give thanks to what unions have done to contribute to the rise of the middle class in this country. Do you like having a 40-hour work week and a minimum wage? Do you like having your weekend off from work, and being closed on holidays? Do you like having paid vacation time and health benefits? Do you like having workplace safety laws and laws against child labor and sweatshops? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, you can thank unions. Union workers fought, and sometimes died, for those rights while being opposed by greedy CEOs and conservatives. Is $35,000 for a toll booth worker really that egregious when compared to the multi-millions that many of these robber-baron CEOs make?

If you go to the link, I also have the Team Bush one in there as well.

I'm in three labor unions myself - including the ACLU. Anyone can be a member of the ACLU for a small donation.

6. the ACLU?
I'm glad you're a member, but I've never heard it described as a labor union before.

7. no it is not a labor union
but it is looking out for your civil rights and many of these civil rights affect the workplace. That is just one reason I belong to the American Civil Liberties Union. It is important for many reasons, most importantly perhaps, one being your rights to be in a union.

3. Very good response
People seem to think that such niceties as unemployment insurance, workers' compensation and paid time off "just happen" or flowed from the goodness of the hearts of their employers. Nope, every last improvement in the lot of workers has come from the workers themselves organizing and sticking together to receive the fair benefit of their labor.

Instead of people whining about a toll taker making a living wage of $35,000, why aren't these workers agitating for a comparable wage and benefit package? The problem isn't too much "given" to one set of unionized workers; it's too little being paid to other workers.
