An old film for today - The Wind and the Lion - 1975

At the turn of the century, a North African sheik kidnaps an American widow and her children in Tangiers, setting off a chain of international incidents. But while she's being held for ransom, the widow finds herself increasingly attracted to her captor. Then, Theodore Roosevelt--with thoughts of re-election on his mind--sends the Marines to rescue them, and becomes entangled in both European and Arabian political intrigues. Academy Award Nominations: Best Sound, Best Original Score.

1. Is it on a cable channel or are you just generally recommending in?

If so, what channel and when? I loved it when I first saw it - over a quarter of a century ago! It would be interesting to see it again.

4. this one has been on my 'best flick' list for a long time . . . in spite
of sean connery's reprehensible reputation for beating his women. he still is great to look at. this one rates at the top along with 'the lion in winter', which has the best dialogue in a movie, ever.
