Kristen Breitweiser's Book has Letter to "Godless" Coulter
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 10:57 AM by RamboLiberal
Someone at a big bookseller goofed and sent me yesterday Kristen's new book Wake-Up Call: The Political Education of a 9/11 Widow which Amazon has listed as being released on Sept 6th. The book looks like a great read and I give a short review from scanning the book here in GD and in Non-Fiction forums. But thought you'd all like to know that Kristen had the chance to add an 5 1/2 page afterword answering "Godless" Coulter's screeds against the "Jersey Girls". Of course Kristen unlike Coulter stays classy. I intend and hope DU'ers as well write the cable shows on CNN and MSNBC (Faux is hopeless) to demand they give Kristen the same amount of time they alloted to the slut Coulter.

Here's the last 4 paragraphs Kristen wrote to Coulter.

Ann, I don't want to get in a debate with you. It's not because I am afraid of you or your nasty bullying tactics. I'm not going to debate you because we have many, many more important issues to deal with in our country right now.

But I will leave you with this: We live in America, the world's oldest democracy. Democracy can prevail (is that what you and your friends really fear?), but that requires hard work, as President Bush might say. Every citizen in this country is entitled to his or her beliefs, and every citizen is entitled to participate. We still have the right to speak our minds to effect change (within the parameters of the law, of course). So don't try to silence the voices of victims or anyone else, merely because you disagree with them or feel threatened by their political choices. In my opinion, your method of using intimidation and insults to "win" a debate is truly unpatriotic.

Actually, I expect that you will continue to scream and shout and smear as nastily as you want, so long as you think that that kind of behavior sells books. But we have tackled bigger bullies than you and lived through far worst circumstances than your book tour. We're not intimidated by you. We're not running away.

And under no circumstances will we be silenced by your "godless" rantings and ravings.

40. Coulter does what she does because she doesn't want the Republicans to
lose power. The power to inflict laissez faire economics on America, privatization on America, budget busting tax cuts on America and inflict religious persecution on America.

I look below the surface of the fright wingers and see the money, the power and the persecution they want to use.

In my intuition I see an 89 percent chance that the Republican will lose power this fall in both houses.

I don't say this over confidently but I do see it. We need to keep working at it to keep the Republicans on the defensive but we can do it.

Ann Coal tar appears just another person with her hair on fire attempting to keep Republicans in power.

Continue to repeat to every independent and swing voter you see that 9-11 happened under Bush and the Republicans watch, and also ask them how do they like paying $3 dollar a gallon for gas that taxes their budget.

When November comes we will pull away the curtain and we will hear the Republicans say in a lod deep voice, pay no attention to the little man behind the curtain.

We will tackle that man and kick him in the balls figuratively.

and the Republicans will lose power.

The Republican econoic policies and government philosophy appears unpatriotic.

The Republicans enabling of irresponsible capitalism appears unpatriotic.

49 million people who pay taxes voted for the Democrat and want some of their money to go to help people less well off than we.

No apologies, no giving up, kick that little man in the balls and do it until election day.

F Ann Coal tar and what she stands for.

Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 11:15 AM by kiki
...it doesn't look terribly good to berate someone for not being "classy", and then in virtually the same breath call that person a "slut". There's no evidence that Coulter is a sexually promiscuous person (quite the opposite, in fact - and even if she were, is using that word really a "classy" way to conduct yourself?) - you just seem to be using the word "slut" because this is a woman with whom you disagree.

Obviously, fuck Ann Coulter and the road she horsed in on. But "classy" isn't exactly the word that jumped to mind on reading that part of your post.

Hell Coulter has bragged about sleeping around. I've read the quote here at DU.

And anyone who dresses in that too small sleeveless mini length black dress Coulter wears on almost every interview I reserve the right to call a slut and a helluva lot worse.

I won't even post about what I fantasize doing to Coulter every time I see that skank on TV spouting her vile crap.

...but I generally object to words like 'slut'. Do you think there's a limit to how much sex women should be allowed to have? Do you think there are some clothes that women shouldn't be allowed to wear?

There are more than enough relevant flaws in Annie's fucked-up personality to pick on, and a veritable rainbow of colourful insults to describe them. Some of my best friends sleep around and wear short dresses. It ain't a crime.

Cause I'm not going to stop calling Coulter names. Hey, I'll stoop to her level. Who was calling just recently both Clinton and Gore latent homesexuals fags? Hints that Hilary is a lesbian. Was it skanky Annie Fannie?

I'm sorry but if I saw Coulter on a street corner wearing what she does on TV interviews I'd be inclined to wonder how much she charges. That appearance is calculated to sell her books - she whores herself for $$$.

I'm not writing for the morality police on DU.

what they did to Bill Clinton, Gary Hart, and Gary Condit.

Coulter is probably the only woman I'd call slut - and it's more for how she whores herself for her books. And remember she's the one who wrote of the Jersey Girls.

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much. ... And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy. ... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them."

The Jersey Girls can be classy - I'll stoop to Coulter's level to defend them.

35. Well, I'd go with "whore" myself...
Edited on Thu Aug-17-06 05:42 PM by kiki
...not to offend the honest sex workers of the world :) , but "whore" is what Anne is - someone who's available to anyone, for any demeaning act, for money (or in Anne's case, that precious, precious attention she so craves). To me, "slut" is just a word used by the sexually repressive types to describe a woman who enjoys sex. Not saying that's you, but just imagine Jerry Falwell or Billy O spitting out that word and you might see what I mean.

On edit: It's interesting that I've had posts deleted for using the "C-word", but "slut" is OK. The "C-word" is just basic vulgarity - essentially like calling a man a "dick", which nobody would have a problem with - whereas "slut" is a slur based on specific prejudices about the target's (real or perceived) sexual activities, which I'm sure everyone here would agree are that individual's own business and nobody else's. Not trying to get anyone else's posts deleted, but I find "slut" far more offensive than the "C-word".

42. I kinda' like "ho" myself
I'm new to Coulter, having successfully ignored her throughout her "media life," which consists largely of Fox and subsequently, the corporate media.

I heard her for the first time a few weeks ago and saw what childish, juvenline arguments she makes. For this woman to be given any television time is a disgrace and says how low the networks and cable television has sunk in its search for content.

But anyway, back to "ho" vs. "slut." I believe I once read that a columnist said Coulter admitted to not holding republican values and to saying that she viewed her advocacy as "just a job." Now that makes her a "ho."

On the other hand, I can see why the OP called her a slut. She makes a big deal out of sleeping around. In fact, methinks she doth protest too much. The slut thing is part of her persona. The thing to do here is wonder what advocating herself as a slut is doing for her. What's the payoff?

24. It's worth noting
that we need not restrict our use of those words, and limit them to things sexual. And a vast amount of religious and esoteric writings, there are references to people -- men and women -- who go whoring after false gods. I think that Ann Coulter is guilty of that, when she is looking to capitalize on the pain and suffering of the 9/11 widows to sell books.

I appreciate it. I find it ironic that the RW Born Agains embrace this woman and lap up her books. Proves to me they're both hypocrites.

And may I add in my defense of calling Coulter a slut - this is what she wrote among other insults at the Democratic National Convention that got her canned by USA Today from covering the convention.

My pretty-girl allies stick out like a sore thumb amongst the corn-fed, no make-up, natural fiber, no-bra needing, sandal-wearing, hirsute, somewhat fragrant hippie-chick pie wagons they call "women" at the Democratic National Convention.

To quote Ollie Wendell Jones - she's a "burp in the universe". A nothing that deserves to be treated as such. A joke that, like her hero Karl Rove, is in love with her own legend and should be in a room by herself with it.

she has worked with ( the jersey girls) to make our country and skies safe!!
Kristen is from my hometown, and i will say this loudly..i am so proud of her , for taking the worst disaster any family could face, and in the face of that horrible day.. she has worked endlessly, so other American families never have to face what she and the other families faced on the very sunny perfect September NJ day..on 9/11.

My neighbor lost their son that day..a beautiful young man and father of three young children

My hometown of Middletown NJ lost many ,many people that day..as well as the town next to Middletown, Holmdel NJ i was living in ..

People i grew up with , lost their lives that day..or they lost their grown children. Fresh out of college and beginning their lives working at the WTC..

Many of my Co-workers lost their lives that day..with one of the Airlines.

People go on..they have no choice , but the pain is always there.

I saw my neighbor last week go speeding off to her daughter-in-laws home the morning it was announced that the 9/11 commission admitted Norad and the FAA lied to them..

The wounds are always raw..

I stood crying that entire day..because many of us fought this commission to demand the truth from Norad and the FAA

We will never have any semblance of safety in this nation, until we have the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

I am sad to say, we have nothing close to that, to this day.

Thank You Kristen, Mindy Kleinberg,Lorie Van Auken ,Patty Casazza
you give me faith in humanity.. and real true Patriotism. You are very " SPECIAL LADIES "..

Many other families have also fought for the truth of 9/11 ..but have stayed out of the "fray"..i also send my heart felt salute to those patriots as well!

A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

with a beautiful poignant letter to her dead husband Ron telling him how she and their daughter (and dog Sam) are getting along after his death. The story of how they met, she initially rebuked him and thought him almost a stalker, is a wonderfully touching story. Someone ought to make a movie about the Kristen and the Jersey girls and their fight with the Bush Admin. Kristen's book would make a great script.

PETITION OF SOLIDARITY

with New York legislators, first responders, victim families, and millions of NY citizens calling for a new investigation of unsolved 9/11 crimes, and the full prosecution of those found responsible.

In memory and on behalf of:

the more than 2800 murdered in New York on September 11, 2001, including 343 firefighters and 75 police officers;
the hundreds of thousands of residents and workers variously harmed by the assault;
the equivalent numbers suffering dire health effects from attack-related pollution;
New York's collateral victims, human and institutional, who collectively lost billions of dollars in business, career and property damages; and
the millions of New York citizens who have lost precious freedoms, rights, family members and/or faith in government in the resulting so-called "War on Terror."
We the undersigned:

a) think that there is ample evidence and probable cause to believe that many grave and still unresolved crimes were committed by US officials prior to, during and after the events of 9/11;

b) observe that most of these apparent crimes, including but not limited to abetment of mass murder, criminal negligence, insider trading, and obstruction of justice, fall well within the jurisdiction of New York's top law enforcement officials, who thus become the People's last recourse when federal intervention yields no credible answers, relief or accountability;

c) therefore petition the Attorney General of the State of New York and the District Attorney of the Borough of Manhattan:
to open urgent new investigations into the most serious, incriminating,
and still largely unexplicated bodies of 9/11 evidence,
to expose and fully prosecute the perpetrators of all discovered crimes,
to restore damages, justice and honor to the state and people of New York, and thereby
to reclaim the public trust in government and our system of law.

Basically, she just wants money and you don't get it by calling for compromising or moderation. You do it by appealing to the most hardcore supporters. You make a name for yourself by controversy. We wouldn't even know who she was if we had not heard her crazy rantings. Disgusting, yes. Something to take seriously? No.
