Falwell Refuses To Apologize For Lucifer Attack, Swears To Repeat It ‘Over
Falwell Refuses To Apologize For Lucifer Attack, Swears To Repeat It ‘Over And Over Again’
Appearing on MSNBC today, Rev. Jerry Falwell responded to criticism of his recent attack comparing Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) to Lucifer. Asked whether his remarks were disrespectful, Falwell said, “I do not.” MSNBC’s anchor then asked, “So I take this to mean that will you not be apologizing to Hillary Clinton?” Falwell answered, “No, I will say it over and over again.” Falwell said it was clear his comments were tongue-in-cheek “because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run .”

Full transcript:

MSNBC: Any comparison to the devil, especially coming on the heels — of course, your comments are being compared to those of Hugo Chavez. He is the president of Venezuela, and I’m sure you saw it last week –

FALWELL: I did indeed.

MSNBC: — when he was addressing the U.N. Assembly, he called President Bush the devil in his speech. That made a lot of people very, very angry.

FALWELL: It made me angry too.

MSNBC: Is there any reason people should be are angry at you for what you said about Senator Clinton?

FALWELL: What I said about Senator Clinton is a true fact. She will energize religious conservatives about all others. Nobody who with a fair mind, open mind heard what you just played did not know that I was speaking tongue in cheek about Lucifer running because there’s no way that Lucifer’s going to run.

MSNBC: Do you believe you were disrespectful?

FALWELL: I do not.

MSNBC: Do I take this to mean that you’re not going to be apologizing to Senator Clinton?

FALWELL: No, I’ll be saying it over and over again.

1. I just can't get outraged over this.
The christian right is just so idiotic that I expect them to come up with crap like this. If I bother with them at all it's to stop them from ramming through some idiocy as law or f'ing up the educational system with "intelligent design" or some other lunacy.

2. Disgusting and typical.
Bush is worse than Lucifer because Bush is real and the Devil is a made-up fictional character.

9. No doubt
Jesus himself will kick his butt down there (I don't really believe in the down there part, but if I did, Falwell will have been picking out pieces of Jesus' foot for a L-O-N-G time).

11. Good!
Every time one of the Apostles Of The Profits shoots his mouth off, the Rectal Religious Right loses ten sheep from the flock who wake up and smell the karma.

There was a "pro-life" demo about a mile from where I live today. A dozen people holding signs, and getting honked at, middle-finger salutes, and other signs of disgust. And where I live used to a bastion of "rock ribbed Republicanism".

The Beast is dead. The Scheißedämerung is upon us. We're only waiting for rigor mortis to set in.

15. Is Jerry breaking the Ninth Commandment?
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 04:02 PM by Fighting Irish
Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Deuteronomy 5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 12:17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

Proverbs 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Proverbs 14:25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Proverbs 19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

Proverbs 19:9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

Proverbs 19:28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

Proverbs 21:28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

Proverbs 24:28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

Proverbs 25:18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I've always found the Holy Bible to be the very best antidote to religious maniacs.

(The central-occipital region is the best, but anything rostral of the forehead will work.)

29. Moon organization in Russia's propaganda photos of Falwell and Moon
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 02:10 AM by Cell Whitman
Does anyone think this disgustingly small man, Falwell, has ANY discernment capabilities at all?

Here are two photos from the Moon organization in Russia's propaganda video showing Falwell, with Moon at his side, speaking before a gathering of Moon's Youth front group, the Youth Federation for World Peace in May of 1996.

Here's a photo of Falwell speaking with Moon at his side at a gathering under the name, Global Violence- Crisis and Hope in October of 2001.

Ron Godwin, who formerly worked for the Washington Times, is currently Jerry Falwell's executive assistant. According Moon's website's reports, Moon has called Godwin one of his "three musketeers." Also named by Moon here is Robert Grant who headed the right wing "Christian Voice" and later Moon's American Freedom Coalition(AFC) which was created by Moon to gather the religious "right" - the theocrats - for political power. You can read a little about the AFC here: http://www.mediachannel.org/originals/moontranscript.shtml

Moon speaking at one of his leader's conferences:

Father sees the presence of Dr. Ron Godwin, Dr. Bob Grant and Dr. Don Sills as very precious. Father looks at these precious three collaborators, supporters and members of this great movement almost like Jesus' three disciples. The three of them are really accomplished giants in our world. By uniting with Reverend Moon's ideology they will become even greater. Each of the three has very special characteristics. They are very different characters, as much as Jesus' three major disciples were different from each other.

(...Dr. Grant, Dr. Sills and Dr. Godwin stood up and grasped their hands together, holding them high. Father waded through several rows of members to himself grasp the clasped hands of the three, making four.)

- Dr. Ron Godwin gave his testimony talking about the USA activities and his part in it. Afterwards Dr. Pak gave a testimony about Dr. Godwin and his first meeting with Father at Danbury(the prison where Moon did time for tax fraud.) Father returned, and Ron Godwin made a presentation to Father on behalf of the Washington Times family. It was a large drawing of an Atlantic salmon.-

-Dr. Pak then introduced Dr. Robert Grant as a man with a deep spiritual connection to Father. Dr. Grant then spoke about his work for God and the direction of the USA activities.-

Father (Moon) spoke again:

Time has passed very quickly, but Father is very satisfied and fulfilled in his heart because Father has been assured that the three heavenly musketeers will do the job. Father looks at them almost as heavenly locomotives pulling the train of America in the right direction. ...

I feel very confident that even though I may not be here all the time, if you trust these three musketeers and unite with them and join with them and work together toward the goal, I am sure you will fulfill a great victory here in America. (Sun Myung Moon speaks at International Leader's Conference Jan. 2, 1992)

Jerry Falwell's "true" savior comes to the rescue....

The full public record strongly suggests that Falwell solicited Moon's help in bailing out Liberty University. In a lawsuit on file in the Circuit Court of Bedford County -- a community in southwestern Virginia -- two of Reber's former business associates alleged that Reber and Falwell flew to South Korea on Jan. 9, 1994, on a seven-day "secret trip" to meet "with representatives of the Unification Church." The court document states that Reber and Falwell were accompanied to South Korea by Ronald S. Godwin, who had been executive director of Falwell's Moral Majority before signing on as vice president of Moon's Washington Times. (Dark Side of Rev. Moon: Buying the Right - Robert Parry - 1997)http://www.freedomofmind.com/stevehassan/presskit/articles/parry1.htm

Here's one Jerry Falwell's best buddy's top preachers doing what Moon's organization does best, dump dirt on the Christian cross. Moon not only says Jesus failed, he says he better than God.

check out some of Moon's other friend's here:
