95. "Habeas Corpus" - A cornerstone of our judicial system.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habeas_corpus

"Known as the "Great Writ", the writ of habeas corpus ad subjiciendum is a legal proceeding in which an individual held in custody can challenge the propriety of that custody under the law. The prisoner, or some other person on his behalf (for example, where the prisoner is being held incommunicado), may petition the court or an individual judge for a writ of habeas corpus."

When Habeas Corpus goes away, this stops being America. Period.

30. brief desc of Rockefeller and Byrd amendments
Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, wanted to add language to improve congressional oversight of the CIA program, while Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., wanted the bill to expire after a limited time so Congress could revisit the matter.

82. 4 Republican voted for Specter amendment, 1 Democrat against
The 4 Republicans for it were Chafee, Smith, Specter and Sununu.
Only Democrat against it was Nelson of Nebraska. I suggest that we ask him to leave our party as he has disgraced himself.

88. Domenici "They are people waiting to do harm to our people"
Paraphrasing....

A program without torture is 'shameful' --- a new war against a new enemy and we must use all tools at our disposal --- CIA Interrogation Program is helping us deny terrorists the opportunity to attack our nation --- Clearly this program is valuable in a global war on terrorism

I applaud the White House and the leadership of the Senate for giving us a bill --- we must keep the bill in its original form, fending off all amendments --- no sunset program --- glad the Habeas Corpus amendment failed, legislation would clog our overburdened courts

105. Whitewash Roberts complaining about Jay introducing ammendment
Says Jay should have instead brought it up in the Senate Intelligence Committee, so that the issue of oversight could have been properly buried without all this troublesome publicity.
