No One Cares Anymore
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 03:50 PM by stop the bleeding
except us and the like minded people like us

Our Country, our people(s), our ideals, our civil rights/liberties are fucked.

sorry to be a downer, but these are dark days.

I know we got to take back the House and or Senate in Nov, but tell that to the voting machines we are fucked every which way but Sunday.

I don't see us having any real ability to change things as long as the game is rigged, and as long as the game is rigged well you know the drill just look at the last 6 years.

People can blast me all they want to, I understand, but I am beyond frustrated, angry, hopeful, overwhelmed etc.

I am just plain numb and do not know what else to do.

on edit: this sums it up

1. Except us? We're the majority in this country. :)
Maybe you need to take a break from a couple of the issues that are depressing, and notice the sea change that has happened in the past few years regarding the bushadmin's miserable failures?

(hi)

2. What Change?
Has there been a change I haven't heard about?

Have the Dems already won the election enough to take control of at least 1 house of Congress?

I must have missed that newsflash.

I agree with the poster 100%, in that this is a pathetic excuse for a country, and there is little hope left. Many here will have faith that things will change, BUT WHEN? WHEN THE FUCK WILL THEY CHANGE?

November? Ya think? And if not then, WHEN? 2008? 2010? 2012? Maybe in my lifetime things will change, but I'll BELIEVE IT WHEN I DON'T SEE IT!!!

3. It does seem overwhelming. I think about if we do get back
Congress then what? The country seems so divided and the religous zellots are still out there. It seems like we are just in a perpetual state of fight causes and putting out fires.

Maybe my feelings (and yours too) are partly due the "Winter Blues". That compounds everything for me. They start in Sept and end in December for me.

4. Yes, dark days indeed...
but we have to try... we have to keep fighting as long as we're here.

I sure don't intend to stay much longer. I don't have any confidence in those voting machines. None at all.

5. they will care only when these thugs start knocking on their
doors or affecting their personal lives, then and only then people will care, we are a selfish society. Terrible I just hope things turn around quickly. I will not take this injustice and see these thugs get their way.

6. I know how you feel...
I ended up near tears at bedtime last night. I was asking my hubby if I was over-reacting since I see no one, not even the news yelling about this stuff... just us, just some of my family. Just a few senators, a few house reps...

We can only TRY right now...

I just called Reid's office and begged for a filibuster. I have no idea if they'll even try, but I tried.

We can try...

7. You Won't Get A Blast From Me....
I admit I've long been a pessimist. But I've seen the signs. Since the 2000 election, believe me, I'VE SEEN.

The Dems will put on their little dog and pony show, to maintain honor amongst their democrat constituency. But it's all been predetermined.

If you REALLY think the Dems are going to win ANYTHING in November, then perhaps I can interest you in a bridge over Lake Ponchtrain.

All I see is them digging their graves deeper. The Bushites and GOP helpers have gone from being simple wrongheaded incompetents, in my book, to genuine war criminal status. That means that they're going to get punished, severely. I can't see them coming out on top or escaping their terrible fate -- they're such wrongheaded, incompetent war criminals.

Be of good cheer. After today, they're yet another step closer to the gallows.

14. I agree
and it's trite, but what goes around comes around. There is no perfect crime, and all bad guys get caught in the end.

10. Keep the Head Together
Political stuff swings like a pendulum.

Back off from the stuff that riles you up and come back to it in a day or two when you can be more objective.
I know the hope is that Republicans will lose substantially in November and in 2008, but if you get to the point that you will fall apart if election results are not as desired, how will that help things?

Love on yourself a little bit. I get frustrated, too, and have to come back to center.

Like one DU'er said...if we do, expect a lot of "time to heal" speeches from the Dems.

This is nothing but good cop/bad cop.

15. I know what you mean, but what will you do?
Are you waiting for November? A lot of people are. I am too. But what happens then?

What happens when the Republicans go into the elections with a 35% support rating and sweep all the elections? What happens when the media makes up a patently idiotic explanation of what happened, and we are expected to believe it because they said so? In short, what happens when it becomes obvious that they are stealing the elections, that our votes are worthless, that they don't even care any more how obvious it is any more because they have the reins of power and will never willingly give them up?

Will you (and all of us, too) just say "Wait until next time!" Will we all just say we have to work harder next time, and that will get us the election, since obviously the American people don't want the Bush administration in charge any more?

Will we roll over and go back to sleep? We did after 2004. there has been enough evidence of election tampering reported from 2004, including a GAO report stating that the Republicans cheated on a massive scale. We slept through that. We had the proof, and we (myself included) griped, and did nothing substantial.

When it happens in November, what will we do?

16. I share your frustration.
Many people care, but are at a loss as to what to do to change things. Who can blame them?

The squeaky wheel no longer gets the grease; the big wheel does. Our votes don't count. We call our representatives, we boycott unjust companies, we organize GOTV drives, we sign petitions, we write LTTEs, all to no avail. No one with power seems to be listening. What do we do now?

We take a deep breath, roll up our sleeves and keep fighting the good fight. Eventually, the pendulum will swing back our way. It's anyone's guess how long it will take. The Cons are entrenched deep, what with a complete death grip on all branches of government and various schemes of lying, cheating and stealing in place to shield themselves from their rightful ousting. But, it will come. It has to. For all our sakes.

Maybe you should disengage for a while and pull yourself together. Then, get back in there swinging. We need you and everyone we can muster to help restore what was once the greatest nation on Earth.

17. I wouldn't say no one cares ...
it's just that Democrats don't fight back. And you cannot expect me to do your fighting for you as I'm an indy.

Here's an example -- about an hour ago I did a google search on Clinton' supposed refusal to track down OBL in Sudan. There were literally hundreds of links which all said Clinton flatly refused to do anything about OBL when offered by the Sudanese.

Yet, all one has to do to refute this is to see the 9/11 Commision report which clearly states the following: THE COMMISSION FOUND NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE THAT THIS WAS SO {http://www.gpoaccess.gov/911/pdf/sec4.pdf -- SEE PAGE 3}.

In other words, Clinton was NEVER offered OBL. Yet, the myth persists that he refused the offer which never existed.

SO WHY DO THE DEMOCRATS NEVER REFUTE THIS LIE???

Again, the problem is the docility of your party. That's why Bush goes on in his campaign or Hitlerian terrorism unabated.

You have been told this hundreds of time by people like myself but you refuse to have your party change its ways. Therefore, it's not that people don't care. It's that you refuse to fight against the Republican lies.

Docile Democrats - that's the problem.
