Remember Helen Chenoweth?
The slightly loony Repugnant from Idaho who hated wild animals and insisted on being called a Congressman? She was one of the Clinton impeachment witch-hunters, even though she boinked a someone else's husband in the 1980s.

According to this, she died in a car accident:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/03/AR2006100301565.html

She was the passenger in a Ford Expedition her daughter-in-law was driving, holding her 5-month old grandson on her lap--which is illegal for a reason, Helen. It's called child fucking endangerment. She also was not wearing a seat belt. When d-i-l lost control of the car, well --

Luckily, the baby survived.

1. That's awful...
Glad it wasn't worse. No matter my opinion of this woman, it's still a tragedy for her family.

2. A terrible way to go...
...but ironic, also.

"...deep suspicion of the government and federal law enforcement...an unabashed opponent of laws that limited personal freedom."

Like seatbelt laws, which she probably thought were stupid.

I'm truly happy that the innocent 5-year-old child survived.

3. five months, not five years. an infant
She opposed abortion, but had no problem putting her own grandchild in danger.

Well, she's divorced from Hubby Chenoweth and Hubby Hage died not long ago. I'm not gloating, but I'm not exactly shedding tears either.

7. I wonder if the driver will be charged for not securing an infant
in a safe car seat. Helen never saw a law that she didn't flip off.

6. She was not from Idaho
She was raised in Kansas and will be buried in Nevada. She never was an Idahoan. She did sleep enough with the GOP party and corporate interests that she was elected. She was never an Idahoan.

She risked the life of that baby (not a blood kin) by holding it in her lap.
