Headline from IRELAND: CIA *did* warn Rice of 9/11 terror plots

"Mounting controversy over her competence level"

The Irish Independent

THE embattled US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, admitted yesterday that she had received an intelligence briefing from CIA chiefs warning of al-Qa'ida plots two months before the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The admission came after Miss Rice, one of President Bush's closest allies, said she did not remember a meeting in July 2001 at which George Tenet, the former CIA director, gave her a detailed briefing on the growing terrorist threat posed by al-Qa'ida.

As the Bush administration's National Security Adviser in 2001, Miss Rice was responsible for co-ordinating the response to national security terror threats.

Her admission Wednesday that the briefing had taken place could jeopardise the reputation of one of the few leading members of President Bush's inner circle not tarnished by the political fall-out from the 9/11 attacks.

2. "Mounting controversy over her competence level".........
I refuse to believe when you are the head of the NSA you are so pitifully inept that
you could not put 2 and 2 together with all the people that were screaming at her
about Osama. Especially after they had tried to take the trade center earlier.

They knew something big was coming and looked the other way.
LIHOP. LIHOP. LIHOP. LIHOP. LIHOP.

I think they got more than they bargained for but they knew full
well we were going to get hit.

4. Absolutely, they needed an "event" to jump start limits on civil
rights, privacy, and Iraq. They were probably hoping for a "hostage hi-jacking." Then they could call on Chuck Norris to do some ass-kicking.

This certainly explains they time that Bush* sat in that classroom. He was clueless and probably thought that his ass would be handed to him. Then he got the greatest gift ever for his incompetance: a 90% support rating from the public.

Would Cheney LIHOP? You don't have to ask that question twice!
