http://www.housedemocrats.gov/issues/issue.cfm?level2id=98&CFID=5597067&CFTOKEN=34391605http://democraticleader.house.gov/Honestly, when she was on MTP earlier this year, I thought she was a bit lackluster (and I was rooting for her to lay out a clear, crisp agenda).
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12612211/I'd like nothing more than for her to make history this fall, but it would be nice to see her show some of the same "fire in the belly" on substantive policy issues that she showed this week over a sex scandal.
If I'm being unfair, and/or if anyone can point me to a video clip where she has given a really strong performance, I'm open-minded. I know that it may be heresy to some on here to dare to say, "she could do a lot better job of articulating the agenda and priorities," but I honestly have no idea what a Pelosi speakership would look like (other than a gut feeling that it would be a vast improvement over another Hastert term).
That *may* - and probably will be - enough for the purposes of regaining the House.
But I suspect that - given the mood of the country, and the gamble many independents and Republican voters are making by voting Democratic - the Marshmallow Fluff honeymoon is going to be short-lived, and the Dems had better have some meat. For a safer working majority, and to entice more independents, libertarians, progressives, and fed-up Republican moderates, it would be a good idea to pivot from this sex scandal thing, and start talking about what a Pelosi speakership would be all about.
In short: start talking like winners with a plan.
