I have been donating DIRECTLY to candidates, but the DCCC is offering THIS!
3-to-1 match by the House Democrats! I bit the bullet and donated to BOTH the DCCC and the DSCC (Wes asked me too...had to do it!:loveya:) PLEASE! IF you can afford to help, NOW IS THE TIME! We can win this election!

I'm sure the DNC could use some help now too! Let's win this thing! :bounce:

From the DCCC and Obama....

I think it's safe to say that we've all had enough. Enough of the broken promises. Enough of the failed leadership. Enough of the can't-do, won't-do, won't-even-try style of governance.

Now is our time to make our mark on history. The Republicans have had their chance to lead -- and they have failed. We have had enough! It's time for a Democratic majority, and if all of us do not step up and do everything we can to take it, we will have only ourselves to blame.

My goal -- and your goal -- in these last weeks of the election is to make sure that the Democrats can compete financially with the Republicans' final onslaught of negative ads. My fellow Chicagoan, Rahm Emanuel, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) told me that last week alone, the Republican counterpart, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) put in close to $10 million in negative attacks ads against Democratic House candidates. That is a staggering amount of money for our candidates to compete against.

But they can compete, as long as we all do our part to help. We have just 15 days to give the American people the leadership they are looking for. If you contribute today, Democratic House members will match your contribution three-to-one, giving your gift four times the impact.

Make a secure MATCHED contribution of $50, $75 or more to elect Democrats to Congress today.

This election is critical.

In the past week, I have been in 15 cities campaigning for Democratic candidates and everywhere I travel I get a sense the American people are desperate for leadership and are longing for direction, for concrete solutions to the problems that they're confronting every day.

They want to believe again. And they are starting to pay attention to this election and see through the spin. And, when the American people pay attention, Democrats win. I know that we can do this and that we can take our country in a new direction, but only if every one of us gets involved -- with our time, our energy, and yes, our wallets. Only then will we have a Democratic majority in Congress.

Make a secure MATCHED contribution of $50, $75 or more to elect Democrats to Congress today.

There is a set of values that have embodied themselves in the Democratic Party. We have a stake in each other and we have a mutual responsibility to each other. We want to make sure that every child succeeds, that the most vulnerable among us are cared for.

Don't let anyone tell you we don't know what we stand for and don't doubt it yourselves. We know who we are. And in the end, we know that it isn't enough to just say that you've had enough.

Our party is the party of opportunity. We are the party that will guarantee every American an affordable, world-class education. We are the party of affordable, accessible health care for all Americans. We are the party of innovation and discovery. We are the party of open, honest government that believes that in this democracy, influence and access should begin and end with the power of the ballot.

And in a world where evil lurks and terrorists plot, we are the party that will conduct a smart foreign policy that matches the might of our military with the power of our diplomacy. And when we do go to war, let us always be honest with the American people about why we are there and how we will win.

If we do all this, if we can be trusted to lead, this will not be a Democratic agenda, it will be an American agenda. Because in the end, we may be proud Democrats, but we are prouder Americans.

Make a secure MATCHED contribution of $50, $75 or more to elect Democrats to Congress today.

Thanks for all you do.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
U.S. Senator from Illinois

P.S. Let me tell you, the easiest thing in the world is to do nothing at all. To turn off the TV, put down the paper, and walk away from the stories about Iraq or Darfur or poverty or violence or joblessness or hopelessness. To go about our busy lives, wishing these problems away and expecting someone else to do it.

But I hope you don't do what's easy. I hope you do what's hard. I hope you contribute to a new direction in America by supporting the DCCC's critical work to elect a Democratic House majority in 2006.

Don't forget the Senate committee! This is an email from Wes Clark:

The tide is turning.

It's what the polls say and it's what the pundits say. Everywhere I travel, people tell me they have had it with the Republicans' one-party rule in Washington, and they want them out now. Respected political analyst Charlie Cook calls this election "one of those once- or twice-in-a-generation elections when a party enjoys unbelievable gains."

We must seize this opportunity.

But for all our momentum, Democrats still have to do the hard campaign work to make sure we emerge victorious on Election Day.

That's why in past months I have urged you to support Democratic Senate candidates like Harold Ford in Tennessee, Ned Lamont in Connecticut, Claire McCaskill in Missouri, Jon Tester in Montana, and Jim Webb in Virginia. And it is why today, I am imploring you to support the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).

Please contribute to the DSCC today -- and help Democrats take back the Senate on November 7th!

The DSCC is the arm of the Democratic Party whose sole purpose is to provide Democratic Senate candidates with the financial resources they need to win. I've worked with the DSCC before, and I know that they have the speed, agility, and know-how to lead us to victory on November 7th.

But with only 14 days until the election, this is when the DSCC needs you most. They must have the resources to turn on a dime, react quickly to the changing political landscape, and instantly send money to the candidates who need it most.

I am so thankful for the support many of you recently gave to individual Senate candidates across America. Now I urge you to be just as generous with the DSCC. Please make an immediate contribution today.

It is important to give to candidates individually, but it is also important to support a group like the DSCC that is watching every race every day, and knows exactly which candidates most need our support.

Last week, the DSCC saw that Virginia Democrat Jim Webb had pulled into a statistical dead heat with Republican George Allen and instantly bought almost $1 million worth of ads to support Jim.

In Tennessee, the DSCC has been behind Harold Ford, Jr. for months now, and because of their sustained support, he remains ahead of his Republican opponent -- even though Harold has faced nearly $3 million worth of right-wing attack ads.

The DSCC doesn't just provide money for ads. They've also spent over $20 million on an unprecedented get-out-the-vote program. They are knocking on the doors and making the phone calls to ensure that a Democratic wave hits the polls on November 7th.

In the coming days, unexpected opportunities will arise for Democratic candidates, and only the DSCC has the firepower to immediately swoop in to help. Now is the time for all of us to give everything we've got to take this country back. Please support the DSCC today.

Democratic candidates are poised to win as many as eight seats currently held by Republicans. We are leading in Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Montana and Tennessee. We're tied in Virginia and only down six in Arizona. Remember, if we win any six out of these eight races, we regain a Democratic majority and restore accountability to our government.

The DSCC urgently needs your help. I hope they can count on your support.

Sincerely,

Wes Clark

P.S. Don't forget, every bit of support helps! So whether you can rush $100, $50, $25, or $10, it will make a huge difference. Let's not wake up on November 8th and say "I wish I would have done more." Please contribute to the DSCC now!

1. Done -- Gave $100
I was also looking for some individual candidates, but the 3-to-1 is too rich to pass up. May also make some smaller donations to individuals -- any suggestions?
