I LOVE Sean Hannity, and if you don't WAKE UP LIBERAL FOOLS!

I really do. I mean that in all seriousness. Sean Hannity is the greatest American in the last decade. Why?

Because Sean Hannity has given Democrats Congress for at least a decade.

Let me explain. Sean Hannity is one of the brightest stars on the right, and uses his radio show and television show to reach millions of Americans. Tens of millions. And what has he been harping about for years? Illegal immigration. Social Security privatization. Being more aggressive in Iraq.

He started this campaign in 2004 against illegal immigration, enraging conservatives and some independents across the country, and pushing the issue into the public view as an important issue, regardless of which side you come down on.

And after railing against Congress for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS, what did he do that so perfectly demonstrated that this was a do nothing Congress and destroyed it's approval rating, sinking it by 20 points?

Terri Schiavo. Sean Hannity is the man that camped down outside Schiavo's hospice and screamed into a live television camera for three straight weeks for America to "save" Terri. This is the most forgotten hammer against Congress in 50 years. The Terri Schiavo affair, when Congress interfered despite universal public disgust after discovering Bush signed a euthanasia ad and Tom Delay took his own father off life support, is the first time in 2005 that Congress's approval ratings fell below 35% and single-handedly brought Bush's approval rating down below 45%.

Why? Because what better illustration can you paint for the public of a Do Nothing Congress, then to have illegal immigration, a social security "reform" that dies in Congress and goes nowhere, as well as a deteriorating major war overseas, to which Congress solves nothing and doesn't even try to do anything, then to have that same Congress finally decide to do something, and that something happens to be to attempt to federally interfere with a life-and-death case involving a braindead woman, in which half the politicans involved are proven in the public light to either be hypocrites or in it for their own political gain (Mel Martinez, anyone?).

This single event brought Congress to its knees and was the first time Bush's approval rating fell flat to 42% and lower in some polls. This also awakened the public to the true fanaticism of the Religious Right if no one had believed us warning them about it earlier. I can personally testify to this. My family voted 3-0 for Bush in 2004 (I didn't vote, too young). Now? My mother and father, NJ Republicans, are socially liberal. My mother isn't voting, my father is voting for Democrats because he's sick of gay marriage/abortion/Schiavo social issues. Our house flipped from 3-0 for the Republicans in 2004, to 2-1 for the Democrats in 2006. And guess who helped this happen?

So before we all go to bed tonight, I want you to say a prayer, and a thanks.

Thank you Sean Hannity. Thank you for helping America find it's way back toward the light.

2. Maybe Hannity secretly wants Dem control
because it gives him more to complain about.

3. hate-radio always thrives better as the opposition....
they can attack attack attack. When their party has control, they have to defend defend defend. They're better at attacking by nature. So you have a point.

6. I remember Jon Stewart before the 2004 election
asking his audience to "make my job really difficult." Elect Kerry, in other words.

There was a joke around that comedians secretly wanted Bush to win because he was so much easier to make fun of than Kerry.

4. How come most DUers can recognize these thruths and our Dem leaders
are blinded to them? there is so much out there for them to use against the Rethugs but they keep responding to the strawman issues that the Rethugs set up for them instead of defining their own issues in their own terms.
