Big black cloud

AIRO - For the seventh year running, a mysterious black cloud has appeared over Cairo, triggering serious health concerns for the polluted city’s 16 million residents.

Black cloudEmissions of nitrogen dioxide, which cause serious health risks above certain levels, have reached record heights in the city, from the banks of the Nile, past the industrial suburbs of the delta and even in the desert areas.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that presence of more than 200 mg of nitrogen dioxide in the air is a great health risk.

But in Egypt, the levels have reached as high as 305 mg in the Cairo district of Qolali and 482 mg in Giza.

4. I wonder
what these people are thinking? are they wondering why has the government let it get like this or are they wondering why have I caused this?
In Collapse, Jarde Diamond recounts the history of Easter Island in which the inhabitants cut down every last tree and destroyed their island. He gave several more examples to the same effect like the anaszi's and so forth but the point was clear these people destroyed their enviroments and paid the consequences. We learned from the past that we don't adapt we simply die out or leave. This is terribly unfortinate for the people of Egypt but how about the rest of the world as well, especially China and India were deforestation, soil errosion and pollution are soon to threaten billions with starvation.
